Good for McConnell.
But the 7 GOP Senators that sided with the party of treason need to get the hell out of the senate, or join the f'n party of treason. They are beyond contempt.

The AP obviously can't add either. 60-56 does not equal 6.

Seven Republican turncoats will have their names etched on stones that will hung around their necks. They're sunk as far as I'm concerned.

The AP and their fellow travelers in the MSM will not be satisfied until we have suspended the Constitution, executed Bush and installed Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid as Joint Caesars. That, of course, to be shortly followed by a formal surrender to the several forces of Islamofascists.

The Senate, on behalf of the American people, must make it clear to the commander in chief that he no longer has a rubber stamp in Iraq," said Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., in the final moments before the vote. So Mr. Reed using that logic and seeing that your surrender plan didn't get supported, this must mean that President Bush dos has a "rubber stamp."
Thanks for trying Harry and verifying that America wants to win this war and supports the troops.
"A vote in support of the troops that is silent on the question of funds is an attempt to have it both ways," said Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the GOP leader. "So we are asking for an honest and open debate."
Democrats allowing an honest and open debate? LOL

It's back --- after a long 6 year absence when the Republicans were in charge and gridlock flowed like all was normal, it's now
GRIDLOCK Hello old friend, I just new you weren't dead, only in waiting for when the triumphant Donks were back in charge.
Amazing, isn't it. I am waiting for the day when the media dies, what a glorious celebration that will be. Do your part, cancel now, all print subscriptions. Spend the money on broadband.
Gridlock is good, all praise gridlock, all hail McConnell, finally a pubby with a pair.

Lieberman voted against cloture; i.e., to continue debate.
So there were 48 Democrat votes for cloture, (Johnson not voting) one Independent/Socialist -- Sanders (S, VT), and the 7 infamous Republicans. That makes 56. As long as Johnson doesn't vote & Lieberman sticks with the pro-debate, anti-cloture Republicans, I calculate that there would have to be 11 turncoat Republicans for cloture to pass.

I agree. They should not get a dime for their re-election campaigns. I want to see all the RINO traitors driven from office.
