I agree that the media had depicted Iraq poorly, but the admin has done a terrible job in communicating the good news, too. Plenty of responsibility to go around.

I'm with you there.

he does it out of a deeply held conviction that fixing the world's problems is none of our business.

Battling terrorists over there instead of here is none of our business?

He's the same as Tom M. Davis.

Sorry about that.

"I'd like to think you're right, but I think in terms of popular support for the war in Iraq, the public has lost its patience and confidence in the admin."

91% of the Pubs in and he has lost support? Are you working for the enemy now too? You are helping them blow this out of proportion.

I think he's talking about "The public, not the republicans".

The majority of the sanity party came out intact on this......

Don't let the trolls on this thread tell you otherwise.

No, I am speaking in terms of the general public perception, and the constituencies of all those who voted for the resolution.

"... I saw hillary get the words to the Star Spangled Banner slightly wrong..."

Yeah, but you EXPECT a treasonous member of the fifth column to not know the anthem! Sort of like witches not being able to say the Lord's Prayer.

I know that they did, but the ones who didn't need to be flogged. There is no more important issue to the future of the world, then the WOT (Ok, so it's the WAR ON RADICAL ISLAM).

You and the MSM picked up very few new takers even with 24/7 slamming of the war effort. I'd say that was a pretty piss poor campaign.

I disagree. Even Michelle Malkin was starting to feel down about our progress because of the intense barrage of bad news hit pieces. She got to go to Iraq, and check it out herself. She came back feeling better.

Most folks don't have that luxury, and many of those who might have been on the WOT (in Iraq) side to begin with, are tiring of this. They only see the death and destruction.

I will not contribute to any Republican senator who voted for the resolution. Further, if any Republican senator who votes for such a resolution is a candidate for re-election in 2008, I will not contribute to the National Republican Senatorial Committee unless the Chairman of that Committee, Senator Ensign, commits in writing that none of the funds of the NRSC will go to support the re-election of any senator supporting the non-binding resolution.

THIS has already been my policy the past year or two.

Whenever a House GOP Committee or Senate Repub Committee person calls on the phone - I give that money grubber hell, telling them that I contribute ONLY to those individual Republicans who do not sell out our military in the War against Islamofascists.

Nor will I contribute to any generic Republican committee which gives money to anyone who fails to support a southern US-Mexico wall/fence.

I spend 10 minutes telling the money grubber why I will never again contribute to any generic Republican committee, I dont care HOW MUCH they are desperate for money.

Battling terrorists over there instead of here is none of our business?

We're nation-building, in the hope that the resulting nation will be less friendly to terrorists than the preceding government was. Frankly, we could have handed Iraq over to the Arab League in 2003 and gotten about as good a result, since Saudi Arabia and Egypt have been tougher on Al Qaeda sympathizers in their own countries than we have with our own in the USA.

If we really want to battle terrorists over there, we would team up with India and overrun Pakistan.

Tell that to all the GOPers who got tossed out on their ass on election day, 2006.

That night amounted to a dramatic vote of no confidence in the president. We may not like it, but denial isn't a river in Egypt.

Actually, I would rather be battling the terrorists over here. We have some pretty stupid policies about importing muslims, and have done (probably) irreparable damage by the sheer number invited in. That is to say nothing of Bush throwing the door wide open for all the riff-raff on the southern border. It would be nice to think that fighting them over there will keep us safe over here. It is just not true. They are here. Bush is doing nothing to change that.
