Views on social issues could cost him Republican Party's nomination
Can't post USAToday content, but basically this article states that most Republicans don't know the full extent of Giuliani's liberal positions. When they learn he is pro abortion rights, pro gay rights, pro gun control, he probably won't get the nomination. And they say this is according to "GOP pollster," Tony Fabrizio.

I'm NOT a LIEberman fan. That was my point.
;-)
Two total waste of votes come to mind:
John Cox (EV, are you still not for him? We are watching)
Alan Keyes (If only we'd elected him in 2000, the world would be perfect, like him)
Keyes Won't Cry 'Uncle'

SYRACUSE, N.Y.
AP
(AP) America's moral house is on fire and the country's moral foundation must be repaired, said Republican presidential candidate Alan Keyes, who refuses to bow out of the race despite his dismal showings in opinion polls.
Campaigning in New York, Keyes said he's the candidate to answer the repair call and that he won't quit his underdog campaign because politics isn't about votes only.
The Republican is getting single-digit support in polls that place him third as New York's March 7 Republican primary draws near.
Keyes, a radio commentator, told reporters prior to a speech at Syracuse University that he is making sure that people have a choice, a choice that is good for America.
I'm not giving up. I won't give up, he said. "America's moral house is on fire.
Keyes also made it clear he's unlikely to support Texas Gov. George W. Bush or Arizona Sen. John McCain should either win the party's nomination.
Keyes said an abortion rights nominee or a plank that protects abortion would drive him from the party.
Keyes said Bush doesn't have a chance to win. Republicans wouldnt win the general election, he continued, because the national economy is strong under the Democratic Clinton administration. Vice President Al Gore and former New Jersey Sen. Bill Bradley are frontrunners for the Democratic nomination.

What a windbag. And Always Wrong.
Audie Murphy risked his OWN life for others.. Rudy did NOT..
Rudy stole the sound bites of heros.. and capitalized on them..
Oh, I think you know what that means.
He has to be honest. Make his opinions known and also where he will agree to meet conservatives part way. He is a tough bastard. which I think people will actually respect if he doesn't equivocate AND does not openly disdain conservative opinions.
Whatever. You can cast aspersions all you want. But the fact remains that it is YOU, not me, with support for a hardcore liberal in his tagline.
You weren't watching. He managed to inspire. Did Pataki?
How bout someone conservative? Someone smart? Someone who has demonstrated political leadership? Someone who understands the mindset of our enemy and realizes the necessity of the WOT? Someone who honors his oath to defend the Constitution?
Don't believe such a politician exists? I believe he does. And, he's a Republican.
Bingo! And for me, the secondary issue is taxes. Elect a Democrat and your taxes will ALWAYS go up.
The only person that can repair a little of George Bush's fracturing of the republican party..
Newt Gingrich.. Newt is the only real game in town..
Course he will never be elected; America has gone socialist..
BUT he can present an alternative after Hillary raises taxes thru the roof, destroys a good economy, and generates a very high unemployment statistic.. and probably generates some foreign terrorism domestically.. as she WILL.. The Muzzies have no idea how American politics works..
ONLY Newt can dog her steps all the way.. and blame the recession on the democrat party, the RINOs, and her heinous..
One can favor liberal legislation by LEGISLATORS, without agreeing that the courts should do so. Maybe he agrees with you and me on that larger point.
I'd like some citations to your assertion that he "praised" all of those cases, by the way.
Most interesting article.
I know who has my support EV. And I know why I support him.
I don't have to wait until payday to announce it, and I won't leave the party if he doesn't get the nomination.
Does he have a name?
I'm sorry, I don't share your confidence in Newt.
The only way I will vote for rudy is if I die before the 2008 elections and besides running a hardcore liberal, the republicans embraces that other left wing standard of votes from beyond the grave.
Otherwise, count me as opposed to the cult of Giuliani.
He's an admitted believer in the so-called constitutional right of abortion. Abortion is most definitely not a constitutional right and had it not been for a handful of liberal activists in black robes overruling the will of the people, it would still be an illegal act most states. There is more, a lot more, but no need to keep piling on. The false flag of abortion rights alone is more than enough to disqualify him from ever gaining the presidency.
Yet..
I am voting for the Republican nominee in the general with no caveat. I support Rudy and hope he gets the nomination but whoever is the candidate has my total support to beat the DemocRAT.
