Conservative Blogger Enlisted by Duncan Hunter's Campaign (Hunter gets a biggie)

Conservative blogger John Hawkins (Right Wing News) announced today that he is consulting for presidential candidate Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA).

For those who haven't followed his efforts in the Congress, Hunter introduced the Right to Life Act, which would legally define "personhood" as the moment of conception and, therefore, guarantee all constitutional rights and protections, including life, to the unborn without utilizing a constitutional amendment. (more information here)

Hawkins' involvement in the promotion of Hunter tells me that the candidate is a consistent ideological conservative in addition to his solid pro-life record. In fact, prior to being approached by a media group connected with Hunter's campaign, Hawkins had written positively concerning Hunter, promoting his candidacy through an interview and Town Hall Column (we noticed).

Second, the utilization of Hawkins reflects the emergent influence of bloggers on the political process and the demonstrated results. During the last presidential election cycle several writers were enlisted to help publicize political campaigns through blogging efforts. Some, like Hawkins, were upfront and announced the financial incentive they were receiving. Others didn't and were heavily criticized. However, the growing practice of enlisting bloggers reflects a positive track record and the complimentary advantage blogs provide to traditional campaign marketing efforts.

Finally, press reports about Hunter have been dismissive, if not negative. There was a time when this may have proven fatal to a campaign. Hunter's media group realizes that those times are over and their candidate's position on the issues can reach voters without an exclusive reliance on MSM

Say bye bye to any hopes of a Death penalty after something like this. Can't have it both ways.

Sure you can, every executed criminal so far already fit the current legal definition of personhood.

Millions of Americans help across our nation and across our globe. To our international critics I say: When you had floods the Americans were there. Asking for nothing, taking nothing, only helping. When you had fires and earthquakes and tsunamis, the Americans were there. When you had disease Americans brought medicine, when you were hungry, the Americans brought food. When you were attacked, Americans left the safety of their homes to defend you. Sometimes the Americans came under their government, but many times they just came because of the goodness of their hearts. America is great because America is good.

I do not think Jim will be publicly supporting any one by name due to the new load in Congress...He could be shut down and unfairly classified.

Just a thought.

Press Release
Hunter for President Hires Director of Internet Outreach February 14, 2007 08:57 PM EST

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007 – North Carolinian blogger and political activist Nathan Tabor has announced he will be serving as Director of Internet Outreach for Duncan Hunter’s presidential campaign.

According to Tabor, “I joined the Hunter campaign because of his commitment to conservative principles. Duncan Hunter is a staunch advocate of limiting government, securing our borders, and defending our nation. When it comes to character, Congressman Hunter exhibits the qualities that we need the most right now. ” Tabor is the founder of noted blog The Conservative Voice, and has recently written a book on the dangers of the United Nations.

BUMP!

I could warm to a Hunter/insert just about anyone ticket. Hunter/Gingrich maybe? Or more likely Gingrich/Hunter? In any event Duncan Hunter is by far the best Republican candidate in the race. And the only real question is can we make him a household name?

I heard Dick Morris predict, today, that it would be one of the top three running now, against a conservative seeming to come out of nowhere, for the primary. Possibly Duncan Hunter. OK he also name Huckabee or Hunter. But hey he is noticing him too!

Oh, man.

This is NOT going to sit well with the NAU conspiracy/Corsi-true-believers here.

Hawkins was brilliant in debunking that "Amero" nonsense. Kudos to Hunter.

The two are not related. Due process and all. An aborted baby has done nothing wrong.

A woman has a choice, there is no law that says she HAS to become pregnant, especially not in this era!!

Nathan Tabor's got a long history on Free Republic. None of it good. He's been banned at least once. I'm not sure why. Can someone fill me in?
