I read Michael Crichton's "State of Fear" and it seemed to be well researched and just devestating to the man made global warming arguments. Has anyone tried to refute this book or is the media and scientific community just ignoring it?

"State of Fear" is a novel--fiction (though probably less fiction than Gore's movie). However, the scientific data and explanations in the book are fact. He used a fictional vehicle, I think, to get more people to read the book including the left-wing literary critics. I think a movie is being made but who knows what will happen once Hollywierd gets done with this.

He sold out to big coal and oil interests. With all of their money some secret deal exchanged cash for arguments to counter the obvious. Can't you see it man?

Crichton wrote in his foreword that he actually had set out to write a "global warming" novel, but as he researched the issue he discovered on his own that it was all a crock, thus turning the story around to what it is now - an indictment of organizations and governments that rely on maintaining a "state of fear" over some impending catastrophe to control populations.

Has anyone tried to refute this book or is the media and scientific community just ignoring it? They just dismiss it as fiction - written by a novelist, after all. If Al Gore himself said he has learned that global warming has nothing to do with human activity, the Hive would turn on him and accuse him of being bought off by Big Oil.

Michael Crichton is one of the Global Warming Alarmist crowd's most hated persons. I have read some of the web sites that push global warming, and they deride him to no end. I like him. I often post a lecture that he gave to CalTech in 2003 where he discusses a long history of science prostituting itself for politcal gain, and of junk science. If you're interested, read this: (don't be deterred by the weird title, it is sarcasm)
"Aliens Caused Global Warming". It is a really good, but long, read.

Ummmmm.........I think they are ignoring it. They think that they are always right and to them it does not matter that we have thousands of scientists that have debunked it.

It will get the same response as "The Da Vinci Code."
It's fiction.

I thought it was an excellent book, and that he (Crichton) is far too intelligent to misrepresent something as serious as the "catastrophic event" that Algorey is trying to invent, like he did the internet.
The world lives, and as a living thing, it changes on a daily basis, all over the planet. Al Gore can't change that process, no matter how loud he screams.
