Here is some cultural Marxism...

Public school lawyers say parents have no say if public schools teach homosexuality

Lawyers representing a Massachusetts school district named as a defendant in a parent's civil rights complaint have said teachers at Estabrook Elementary School have a "legitimate state interest" in teaching the homosexual lifestyle, and parents have no input into those decisions....

Cultural Marxism has been more successful than its economic variant. One can only conclude people dislike having to share things, which is what is promised by socialism; but they are attracted to the idea they can do what they want without being bound by anachronistic social mores and conventions. I dare say hedonism that is writ large in Cultural Marxism has far more adherents than socialism.

As a 'love hippie' in the 60's and early 70's, I heard a lot of this among we who only wanted to be/stay stoned and the occasional 'intellectual' that dazzled us with words, concepts and 'education'.

I admit to listening to a lot of this because of my fascination with my mind and what I believed was my ability to 'think'.

I'm older now, a traditional man with responsabilities and bills ... and as I read this stuff, I come closer to realizing the danger we are in of losing our American identity.

My children think I'm nuts to be so political and paranoid, but I'm convinced we are headed towards a serious confrontation in our land about what it is to be an American.

Especially if this reply is followed by ... "Step away from the computer" ... "Are you logged in" ... or ... "Have another cup of coffee/stop drinking coffee".

There is one fundamental problem that I can see: many that identify themselves as Christians or Evangelicals will not really internalize the wisdom imparted in this article that can be found below "Cultural Determinism". The stuff about markets, free will, and liberty. There are too many culture warriors on todays' Right that are just as profoundly off-putting and authoritarian as those found on the Left. What's worse, they don't even realize that their behaviors run counter to the Savior's Ministry that they claim to champion. Ever notice how perverted some religious pressure groups and some churches can get when lobbying politicians for legislation or soliciting money from their parishioners to fund something decedent and wholly unnecessary?

One quibble -- the word 'tolerance' is not and should not be identified as a so-called code word. Tolerance is a very real Christian concept taught several places in the NT...namely in the Weeds Amongst the Wheat and the If They Do Not Receive You Then Dust Off Your Feet and Go To Where You Will Be Received.

It's amazing how easily, Godless people, the so called, "secular progressives" have fallen for cultural Marxism, hook line and sinker, and are steadily marching towards their own destruction.

This is not the first time I have seen the idea put forth that today's PC/multiculturism movements are remnants of our fight against communism (which I do believe). However, I have not previously seen those movements linked to people as far back as Marx and Engels. Thanks for posting this.
