. . . and, without mentioning President Bush by name, offered pointed criticism on how the Iraq war has been handled . . . He said that the United States went to war with far too few forces and was wrong to dismantle Saddam Hussein’s military and government, and he conceded that if more information had been available about Iraq’s weapons, Congress never would have approved the war.

I like how some folks here see something in the NY Pravda and are like, "Well, this rules him out for me forever." I guess we are going to get the same posters writing every night, "Well, this finally rules him out for me" for the next year and a half. "Well, I can never vote for him." Yep, ok. Gotcha.

"Soon, his nomination will be inevitable. And then he takes out the Hildebeast."

I don't think he can beat Hildebeast. He's too much like her and the dems will vote for her. And, he won't get the support from the conservative base...

I still don't understand why so many Freepers think that Hillary is a shoe-in. It's like they're so afraid of Hillary that they'll support Stalin if he had an R after his name and could beat her.

....well whether anyone is for Rudy or not, all the Generals and Commanders I've heard pretty much said that we should have had more troops.....and yes, dismantling the military and throwing out low level Bathists is now looked on as a mistake as they then had nothing to do but become more extreme....I think more then just Rudy said this, like George Will, William F. Buckely etc....

Yeah, it's interesting how people say they don't listen to NYT yet at the same time keep quoting them to attack fellow Republicans...

Rudy is a smart guy. I doubt he would condemn the president they way NYT wants us to believe...

We have had more Republican Presidents than Dems since Rowe V. Wade and still it is the law. Why do you think it will be changed with a "very conservative candidate"...and esp. one with little change of getting 50% of the vote?

The fanatical Giuliani haters on FR have been posting a lot of out of context statements made by him in an attempt to smear him.

"Giuliani 'not confident' war will turn around." is a perfect example.

Whats being deliberately left out the rest of Rudy's remarks:

"I'm confident that we have to try to make a turnaround, and we just can't walk out, and that it is critical to us that things get to the point in Iraq that we have some degree of stability and not the way they are now," Giuliani continued. "Because if we leave it the way it is now and we run out, then we're going to face further difficulties in the future."

This headline is an outrageous attempt to mislead people. This NY Slimes article is another example of this tactic. I respect people who oppose Giuliani and who do so in an honorable manner. Posting misleading statements that are taken out of context is underhanded and dishonorable.

It is interesting to note that the excerpt does not provide any actual quotes from Giuliani.

"I still don't understand why so many Freepers think that Hillary is a shoe-in."

She is a shoe-in if we run a candidate who is pro-choice, anti-gun, pro-gay marriage, and for open boarders... ie, Rudy

Are you saying that the conservative base will sit out the election or vote for a third party candidate and allow Hitlary to sit behind that desk in the Oval Office?

If so God help this country.

Guess that's why he gave her a pass in '06, eh?

That's a new low, even for you.

He was sick and you know it.

The GOP has at times earned the sobriquet "the Stupid Party." But it has never been stupid enough to nominate someone who agrees with most of the Democrat platform and who is hostile to almost all of its own.

"Most of Clinton's policies are similar to most of mine." - Rudy Giuliani

He wasn't sick in '06. You're confusing elections, either ignorantly or purposefully.

Yes... However don't blame the conservative base, blame the idiots that pushed Rudy.

He didn't run in '06 because his goal had become the Presidency, that seems fairly obvious. Why become a Senator only to immediately start campaigning again?
