I have come to the conclusion that "social conservatives" are not conservative at all. They don't opine for less intrusive government. Not at all. They want the same level of government intervention as the libs, just with different results.

I agree completely. Both the far right and the far left want more Government not less interference in the daily lives of people. I am a less government person who believes social issues belong in my home, my church, my community, and my State. I don't send my Congressman to D.C. to deal with social issues.

The latest poll I saw, showed your state in love with Huckabee as the conservative white knight, relatively speaking. I guess that is what being appended to Arkansas does to one. Arkansas is just so well, interesting.

Do you send them there to protect unalienable rights...to defend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights?

Sheesh. Has it ever occurred to you that a conservative can be more than half conservative/half liberal? Is there no such thing as taking a conservative position on most if not all issues? Most conservatives I know don't want government interference into their lives. Let the people decide at the local level as the founders intended. Most states had laws regarding abortion per their citizens wishes before the liberal activist court intervened at the federal level. We need to fight to get our rights to self-government back.

Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do.-Rudy Giuliani
