Nonbinding resolutions are a joke -- Congress needs to take a stand -- fund or not fund -- support the war or not support the war. They need to go on record so their constituents can make up their minds about their Congressmen/women and find out where they stand on many issues not just Iraq instead of just talk, talk, talk!

My usual comment on Rudy: so many pros .. but so many cons (border security, guns, abortion). But gosh, he'd pound Hillary into dust. Not sure he's the best Repub, but far preferable to Hillary if it comes to that.

I'm not a fan of Rudy for President.

But he's 100% correct here.

And I think one of the things wrong with Washington is they don't want to make tough decisions anymore. Nonbinding resolution about Iraq, no decision on immigration, no decision on Social Security reform, no decision on what to do about energy independence, no decision.

They do not want to upset their deep pocket donors and lobbyists.

If Rudy gets to DC he is going to have a grand time telling the work shirkers on Capitol Hill just what a bunch of wussies they are! They could not make a tough decision if they had to. Non binding resolutions are made to cover their backsides.

You fish, you cut bait, or you get out of the boat. Most of these Congress critters are intent on sinking the boat and taking the rest of us with them.

Rudy is a good guy in many ways, a good leader. He might win in 2008; but if he wins, it ultimately means the end of the Republican party.

I agree with Rudy 100% on this. But this doesn't distinguish him from the field in any way. McCain, Romney, and Newt have said the exact same things. Of course there are the losers that have no chance like Brownback and Hagel who are actually going to vote for this so I guess it's good see Rudy on the record here. I am not supporting Rudy in the primaries but I think he would be an excellent president on the issues of foreign policy, homeland security, and the War on Terror.

I set TIVO to record the LKL replay. I will watch it once I sign out for the night. As it were, I only caught the last 5 minutes of the first broadcast, and only because I spotted a LIVE thread here. I rarely watch cnn or LKL.

I have tremendous respect for the people who feel that we either made a mistake going to war, who voted against the war, who now have come to the conclusion, changed their minds, they have every right to that, that it's wrong, you should, in a dynamic situation, keep questioning."

Rudy's already near his max level of support in the Republican party.

The proportion of Republicans who buy into social liberalism is about 35 percent. That's roughly Rudy's level of support. He's their candidate not because they really believe he's the only candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton. He's their candidate because they are social liberals like him. They favor the gay rights agenda, they support hate crime legislation, they generally think guns are icky and scary, and the have few concerns about abortion.

There is no other viable Republican candidate running who more perfectly sees the world the same way they do.

Coming from a man that couldn't be "decisive" in his candidacy for Senate years ago or the Presidency recently, IMO he's not quite the decision posterchild. He's more reliant upon the MSM winds to make his decisions.

I'm disappointed, Rudy. Not one mention about the fact that this demoralizes our troops and aids and abets the enemy. Do you support victory or not? The surge has already begun. Why would Congress pass a resolution, binding or not, on something that is underway?

Rudy is a joke too. He's trying to make a veiled declaration that he's against the war, but he's too much of a politician (hypocrite) to come out and take a position that can be used against him.

Those who sponsored and support this resolution have made a stand...defeat freedom, hand the Iraqis over to worse thugs than Saddam & co, disrespect those that gave the ultimate sacrifice and those that are prepared to do so. Their stance is a clear aid to the enemies of the country to which they took the oath of office.

The Dims are terrified of Rudy. They're desperate and don't know how to deal with a candidate like Rudy, so they try and smear him and trick voters into hating him.

If Rudy is the best candidate who can keep Her Heinous, Queen Hillary from claiming her throne, so be it.

Stop the insanity now!
