HotAir has a must see video of Rudy Giuliani talking about the senselessness of non-binding resolutions and what's wrong with Washington from the Mayor's appearance on Lary King Live. In case you haven't seen him make this case in the last few days, this is must see viewing:

GIULIANI: I mean, you can look at the practical and common sense conclusion on that anyway you want. But there's something more important than that. We have a right of free speech in this country and we elect people to make decisions. Here's what I would prefer to see them do, though, if you ask me what's my view on that. The nonbinding resolution thing gets me more than are you for it or against it. I have tremendous respect for the people who feel that we either made a mistake going to war, who voted against the war, who now have come to the conclusion, changed their minds, they have every right to that, that it's wrong, you should, in a dynamic situation, keep questioning. What I don't like is the idea of a nonbinding resolution.
KING: Because?
GIULIANI: Because there's no decision.
KING: But it's a statement.
GIULIANI: Yes, but that's what you do. That's what Tim Russert does and that's what Rush Limbaugh does. That's what you guys do, you make comments. We pay them to make decisions, not just to make comments. We pay them to decide. The United States Congress does declarations, the war
KING: So if you feel that way, withhold funds and that's the way you feel?
GIULIANI: The ones I think have a better understanding of what their responsibility is and are willing to take a risk are the ones who are saying we've got to hold back the funds, we've got to vote against the war or we're for the war. And maybe it's because I ran a government and I tend to be a decisive person. I like decisions. And I think one of the things wrong with Washington is they don't want to make tough decisions anymore. Nonbinding resolution about Iraq, no decision on immigration, no decision on Social Security reform, no decision on what to do about energy independence, no decision. You know why that happens? Because it's unpopular.
What do you like with Giuliani?
Hey Jim, I think it's the other way around. Some of the stuff posted here in the past two weeks about Rudy is hate filled and vile.
AND to compare Rudy with hillary. That's the ultimate outrage by FR members who are doing that. How many 9/11 funerals and wakes did the wicked one attend vs. how many did Rudy Giuliani attend (hundreds or more). Rudy is a great American and if he is the GOP candidate after the primaries he will be a great President.
I certainly do not agree with Rudy on some of his social positions from a personal standpoint, but when it comes to electing a President social issues aren't a top priority for who I vote for. It pro-military, strong national defense posture in the world, tough on crime and lower taxes. From my perspective the social issues fall under the category of advocate NOT legislate.
If he doesn't he will split the GOP, there's no doubt about that (probably won't get the nomination either).
I have to believe he will squash the liberal BS and announce that he is a conservative early in the primary process.
Doesn't do much good to advocate when you have liberals appointing liberals to the court where they can overrule you at every turn and or legislate their own agenda from the bench. We need to ensure that we run a pro life conservative so that we have the best shot at getting constitutionalists appointed to the bench. Oh, yeah, I know. Rudy will change his spots and appoint only Scalitos. Ho hum. Whoop do dee. Been there. Done that.
No doubt, will make you cheer and give you heartburn.
I think however, he may be the candidate to end the partisan bickering. He will confound both extreme sides of the political spectrum, neutralize them and allow for the less rabid elements of each party to create a coherent direction for the country.
What I like about Rudy is that he takes a stand and sticks by what he believes in regardless of what anyone thinks about it.
How long have we observed Republicans who we vote into office start playing the game of trying to be liked by the liberal media. Rudy WILL NOT do that. He'll take them on just like he will the liberals in Congress. Rudy will KICK ASS and take names, not cower in the corner worried about what the liberal media thinks of him and go around trying to please them.
This is a trick question, because no matter what I say it will elicit only howls. But my honest assesment is that Giuiliani is peerless in his effectiveness in implementing conservative governance. He is Reaganesque in worldview and leadership skill, profoundly brilliant, with a verbal facility essential to the presidency (framing positions persuasively and with clarity), sound on all matters constitutional, a lover of America, who will not take sh#t from the UN, the Euroweenies, France, the collection of global thugs who now have their way on the world stage, the left, or the media. I am looking forward to people getting to know him, instead of the caricature, and actually seeing him in action. I absolutley love the guy.
Note I am not hammering anyone; I am simply giving my genuine opinion. I do not expect anything but grief for it.
I want America to maintain her leading position in the world, Giuliani offers the best chance of this happening.
Regards, Ivan
Cheerio!
Ditto.
Rudy is a natural born leader.
LMAO! Thats why Arlen is still there right? Because the social conservatives have SO much influence in PA. It's why a socially conservative Gov lost overwhelmingly too huh?
What I like about Rudy is that he takes a stand and sticks by what he believes in regardless of what anyone thinks about it.
Oh please. Giuliani has been taking back pretty much all his stuff from his time as mayor, especially on abortion and gun rights. He is just another politician saying what he thinks will help ensure victory. Be in running as a committed leftist to win in New York city, as a pretend conservative to try and win the republican primary and, if he (God forbid) wins that, a centrist moderate to appeal to swing votes in the general. Giuliani almost makes John Kerry look principled.
To go after Republicans rather than democrats is absolutely the quickest way to get a court full of Ruth Ginsbergs!!!
Coming from a man that couldn't be "decisive" in his candidacy for Senate years ago or the Presidency recently, IMO he's not quite the decision posterchild. He's more reliant upon the MSM winds to make his decisions.
Other than being pro-life, I'm not a social conservative and I think that Rudy is horrendous.
I'm going to plagiarize that for my new tagline.
Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do.-Rudy Giuliani
