"Afghanistan last year suffered its worst period of violence since the ouster of the Taliban regime in 2001. Some 4,000 people died in insurgency-related attacks, according to an Associated Press count based on numbers from U.S., NATO and Afghan officials."
From the above ABC article. No mention that 99% of the 4000 killed were Taliban or Al Queda.
;-)
My word, there is only one piece of wall or roof that is 10 feet long. Impressive.
I see two walls that (used to) intersect where the craters are.
These are next to a road separated by a wire fence, penetrated by a small bridge where the humvee is.
Wonder what it was/what it looked like b4. Looks like a bad place to hide.
Urban renewal....
I appreciate the picture. Looks more like Iraq than Afghanistan though. The bereted troops remind me of Iraqi soldiers, more than Afhgan soldiers. Not trying to rain on your parade. Just offering a first impression. Either way, it fills my 19" monitor up and then some, and I'm thinking about making it my new background, now that Christmas has passed.
The Taliban felt a old fashoned ZOT! and wound up visiting their Moon god.
