Vanity: The tale of two parties

Posted on 02/13/2007 3:02:27 PM PST by Jim Robinson

We have two major political parties in America. One is pro abortion, pro gay rights, anti first amendment, pro gun control, pro big government, pro big spending, pro illegal immigrant, pro environmentalism, pro United Nations, anti war.

The other is or is quickly becoming pro abortion, pro gay rights, anti first amendment, pro gun control, pro big government, pro big spending, pro illegal immigrant, pro environmentalism, pro United Nations, fading quickly on the war.

Huh?

The only answer is less politics and more statesman..now!
Tom Coburn and Mike Pence need to step up!

--

add Jeff Sessions, Steve King and John Kyl to that group..

Right now I'm praying that a pro life and liberty conservative gets the nomination.

--

I know that many others here will work hard towards that end in the primaries as well, despite all those here who seek to shut-off the process early on before any other candidates even has a chance to join in a round of debates.

Most electable?? Yeah I don't get that..what good is having someone run if they don't stand for anything other than maybe they will be strong on terrorism?

If it comes down to that then not me.. I'll stick to voting for someone who stands for principles, morals and values..even if the know-it-alls say that candidate can't win. I won't face my maker and say my excuse for looking the other way was because I was afraid the other person wouldn't protect me from the Islamothals and I might die.

Better dead than red.. maybe instead of just shouting in the wind and hoping everything will turn out ok, just maybe it's time to give up personal safety ..maybe we'll have to fight for our principles like our forefathers did.. or what do we have if we don't.. we need not elect someone because it's the lesser of two evils.. that just makes us complicit with evil itself..

Well, if your only "principle" is to hope that your team wins, then this is perfectly consistent with that. Unfortunately that's the case with quite a few in the GOP; the party could run Hillary Clinton and you'd still see these folks advocating for her.

"You know what happened to the founder of M.A.D.D., don't you?"

I do, very s.a.d.d.

Though after saying that & so there's no misunderstanding, exactly what're you driving at?

...now's not the time to be coy, Professor.

Revenge of the moderators?

"Revenge of the moderators?"

Maybe so.
But you'd probably have much better insights concerning that subject than I, Professor.
I'm not around much anymore, preoccupied with matters in the real world.

In all honesty & from what I can tell now?
This boards mods behave as they've always behaved.
Whether that's a good or bad thing, I'll defer to you or someone else to say.

That the Old Man would make the statement he did to open this thread, OTOH, I find quite significant.
For reason(s) I'd rather not share, publicly.

"Revenge of the Mods".
Hmmmmmm, a great title for Hollyweird sequel for Star Wars?

...all the elements are here. {g}

There are these rather silly but slightly irresponsible car ads running now where a car load of kids or a family of four comes up to a stop and, on cue, everybody leaps out of the car with all four doors open, runs around the car in a mad parody of musical chairs and jump back in to speed away just as the light turns green, with a different driver.

Modern politics resembles this or vice versa.

I believe you're describing what's colloquially called, "A Chinese Fire-drill".

"Modern politics resembles this or vice versa."

Uh-huh.
Totally agree with your analogy, Professor. ;^)
Unfortunately, "knowin's not controllin'".
~huh.

Still the shenanagns from our august leaders (of both sides) aren't going to simply go without exacting a price.
One day the combined total buildup of BS will violate the angle of repose and tons upon tons of accumulated excrement's going to obey gravity like everything else.
Watch-out. {g}

The position of all-too-many these days appears to mirror that of one A.E. Newman, "What, me worry?"

As it turns out -- and in hindsight -- Newman was neither fool nor genius when he uttered those words.

...he was a prophet. ;^)

But, if the GOP chooses to be Evil Party II, I'm gone, and I'll take as many with me as I can.

Leaving again so soon?

Last night, I think he wrote he will take MILLIONS with him. Such buffoonery...lol.

Just think, "IF" Rudy wins the nomination it'll be because MILLIONS voted for him!

If a leftist is the nominee, they'll go no matter what I do.

I wonder how EV will take it when and if MILLIONS of people disagree with him.

They can't all be wrong, can they?

They can't all be ignorant, can they?

They can't all be unpatriotic, can they?

I'll take it just fine. Our job, as Washington said, is to raise a standard to which good and honest men can repair. The rest is in the hands of God.

No. He gives all of us free will, and He gave us a country in which we are free to choose our own leaders. But, I will consider those who chose Giuliani, and those who empowered Giuliani, like your type, shortsighted unto blindness.
