NKorea says pact requires only "suspension" of nuclear facilities

Other parties at six-nation talks in Beijing offered North Korea the equivalent of 1 mln tonnes of heavy fuel oil in connection with the "temporary suspension of the operation of its nuclear facilities," said the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

However, the text of the agreement reached earlier refers to the "disablement of all existing nuclear facilities" in return for the fuel aid and makes no reference to a temporary suspension.

This sounds an awful lot like those temporary tax cuts with an "eye" toward eventually making them permanent!!!

The Arabs and Palestinian's do the same thing all the time.

After the "agreements" are signed, the native language versions contain meanings that the originals did not; and the "original" meanings were not ambiguous in the verbal negotiations.

Just like last time! Only then, we did not know it was temporary. Probably expires Jan 2009 on Inauguration Day.

"Temporary suspension..." translates from the Korean as "We are shutting down the reactor to extract the fuel for reprocessing into plutonium."

Even if Kim said that he would totally abandon nukes, I wouldn't believe him.

Since we are smarter than last time, no. Communist dictators should be takken as the liars they are.
