SAN JOSE, CA, February 12, 2007, (LifeSiteNews.com) A hip hop group entitled Flipsyde, led by the singer known as Piper, released a song in Dec. 2005 entitled "Happy Birthday...so make a wish" which voices the remorse and love that a father feels towards his unborn child who was killed by abortion. The music video of the song from Flipsydes album, We the People, was just brought to the attention of LifeSiteNews. It is an undeniable testament to the guilt and sadness that many fathers experience after losing their child to an abortion.

Martin......I think I know one of these guys, the singer, I think. He bought my Yamaha Electric Grand Piano about four years ago. Cool dude.
Happy Birthday...so make a wish
Verse 1:
Please accept my apologies, wonder what would have been
Would you've been a little angel or an angel of sin?
Tom-boy running around, hanging with all the guys.
Or a little tough boy with beautiful brown eyes?
I payed for the murder before they determined the sex
Choosing our life over your life meant your death
And you never got'a chance to even open your eyes
Sometimes I wonder as a fetus if you faught for your life?
Would you have been a little genius in love with math?
Would you have played in your school clothes and made me mad?
Would you have been a little rapper like your papa da Piper?
Would you have made me quit smokin' by finding one of my lighters?
I wonder about your skintone and shape of your nose?
And the way you would have laughed and talked fast or slow?
Think about it every year, so I picked up a pen
Happy birthday, love you whoever you woulda been
Happy birthday...
Chorus:
what I thought was a dream (make a wish)
Was as real as it seemed (happy birthday)
What I thought was a dream (make a wish)
Was as real as it seemed
I made a mistake!
Verse 2:
I've got a millon excuses to why you died
Bet the people got their own reasons for homicide
Who's to say it woulda worked, and who's to say it wouldn't have?
I was young and strugglin' but old enough to be your dad
The fear of being my father has never disappeared
Pondering frequently while I'm sippin' on my beer
My vision of a family was artificial and fake
So when it came time to create I made a mistake
Now you've got a little brother maybe he's really you?
Maybe you really forgave us knowin' we was confused?
Maybe everytime that he smiles it's you proudly knowin' that your father's doin' the right thing now?
I never tell a woman what to do with her body
But if she don't love children then we can't party
Think about it every year, so I picked up a pen
Happy birthday, love you whoever you woulda been
Happy birthday...
Chorus:
What I thought was a dream (make a wish)
Was as real as it seemed (happy birthday)
What I thought was a dream (yeah, make a wish)
Was as real as it seemed
I made a mistake!
And from the heavens to the womb to the heavens again
From the endin' to the endin', never got to begin
Maybe one day we could meet face to face?
In a place without time and space
Happy birthday...
From the heavens to the womb to the heavens again
From the endin' to the endin', never got to begin
Maybe one day we could meet face to face?
In a place without time and space
Happy birthday...
Chorus:
What I thought was a dream (make a wish)
Was as real as it seemed (happy birthday)
What I thought was a dream (make a wish)
Was as real as it seemed
I made a mistake...!
Powerful words....prayers for him and all the innocents killed
How nice, only one mention of the woman in the equation:
"I never tell a woman what to do with her body
But if she don't love children then we can't party"
And it doesn't exactly say that he was willing to offer her an emotionally stable relationship in which to raise a child.
His thoughts and feelings are heading in the right direction and should be applauded. At the same time, you are right, he needs to proceed further.
He can say he's sorry all he wants to, but as long as he sees women as nothing more than a way to "party", he'll keep setting up the same situation to happen again.
The Tide is Turning! It will continue to build until cultural pressure will be so strong as to force the next liberal president to change even her longstanding policies to remain in office. All pro-life baby!
Oh, and now THAT's a song that DESERVES a grammy!
Prayers for all the little innocent victims.
Wow. I have regrets from past decisions too.
In January of 1988 my girlfriend told me she was pregnant and asked me what I thought she should do. I told her to pray - knowing what His answer would be. We were soon married and in September my son was born. She and I didn't work - she couldn't leave 'the life' behind.
So I've been a single father for 18 of my son's 19 years. We're looking at colleges now.
He has been the joy of my life from pre-school to cub scouts to little league to being honored as the best in local football.
Looking back at that talk in January of 1988 with my girlfriend - I know what I said to her didn't come FROM me but THRU me.
That was the best decision I NEVER made.
Thanks for the video link.
That certainly is a bone of contention.
It's about time blacks acknowledge their genocide.
