John Solomon, who recently joined the political reporting staff at The Washington Post, from The Associated Press has been widely criticized by liberal bloggers in recent months for what they considered unfair stories on Sen. Harry Reid and former Sen. John Edwards. Now he is under attack from a leading Republican -- Sen. John McCain.
McCain lashed back today at the Post after Solomon wrote that the Arizonan, who has campaigned against the use of "soft money," is using those types of funds in his GOP presidential nomination.
McCain told CNN the article is "worst hit job that has ever been done in my entire political career."
He denied he planned to raise or use any money from independent non-profit "527" groups, as alleged in the article.
Solomon observed in his front page Sunday article:
"In his early efforts to secure the support of the Republican establishment he has frequently bucked, McCain has embraced some of the same political-money figures, forces and tactics he pilloried during a 15-year crusade to reduce the influence of big donors, fundraisers and lobbyists in elections. That includes enlisting the support of Washington lobbyists as well as key players in the fundraising machine that helped President Bush defeat McCain in the 2000 Republican primaries."
If McCain can't take the heat from a negative news article without whining, he won't be able to tolerate the presidency.
Hmmm, questioning the origin of his adopted kid, questioning his wifes addiction to painkillers, calling his an angry psychopath. Nope, accusing him of seeking out soft-money is definitely the worst thing one could say about him. Interesting pathology.
"After the lovin', I'm not in love...with you."
McQueeg is a time-bomb waiting to go off. It is just a matter of time. He will have his "Howard Dean" moment before, during or just after the primaries.
There's nothing worse than a taste of your own medicine . . . or getting hoisted on your own petard.
George Soros is very grateful that you put him in charge and enabled him to buy a number of senators and congressmen in the last election. But loyalty is only a one-way street with these guys. Didn't your captors in Nam teach you that?
Is there a betting pool? After Iowa...New Hampshire...?
I'd love to hear this answer...
It's sad that I might be forced to vote for McCain to avoid Rudy.
Ugh!
Sounds like a the whiney pseudo-liberal we all know him to be.
The truth hurts? If you don't like being spanked, don't pull stupid tricks.

McCain needs to make it illegal for anyone to say unkind things about himself.
A r.i.n.o.
Well Johnny...you know they never really liked you anyway, don't you?

1) He does seem to have the ability to draw people to him . . . as do squirrels.
2) He also possesses the unique ability to make bitter enemies of neighbors . . . Just like squirrels!
3) He has suffered inhumane treatment at the hands of humans, giving him a most personal insight into the lives of everyday squirrels.
4) And finally, he does look like us. For example, the photo, at left, is certainly the face of a squirrel, fiercely protecting his nuts.

Tough getting that free-ride for years from the DBM... only to see it evaporate at crunch-time. If he didn't know this was gonna' happen, he's not only crazy... he's STUPID.
