Giuliani Strikes a Note With California GOP Testing the Waters, Former N.Y. Mayor Garners 4 Ovations
SACRAMENTO, Feb. 10 -- Rudolph W. Giuliani came west to learn whether his brand of Republican politics has a chance among party members significantly more conservative than himself. By the time he had received a fourth standing ovation Saturday at the California Republican Party convention, the answer seemed clear.
Equating the U.S. fight against terrorism with the Civil War and the Cold War, Giuliani told about 750 of his party's faithful that failure in Iraq would turn that country into a "massive headquarters for terrorism."
"Having had a job where I didn't have any choice but to make a decision," the former mayor of New York said, "prepares you as best you can be prepared to be the president of the United States."

So basically he did what Dick Cheney, Newt Gingrich and millions of middle class guys did. Who honestly cares? I wouldn't have gone to Vietnam either. As soon as Nixon was elected, the entire Democratic Party was determined for us to lose the war.

My father and step mom were there today as well. I just got off the phone with them and they had exactly the opposite opinion, they saw and heard a lot support for Rudy, which actually surprised both of them. They were very impressed, and that says a lot if you know my father!... LOL.

Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do and how you do it. ~~~ Rudy Giuliani
Sounds like Rudy is a big government authoritarian.
Man is not free unless government is limited.... as government expands, liberty contracts.

I love the chart. Please keep posting it to remind everyone where he stands on many important issues. I won't be voting for him. I'll be damned if I vote for anyone with his "values."

There is a lot more to being a social conservative than "speaking out" on the issues you mentioned. You are cherry picking and ignoring a host of other issues where Rudy is quite liberal.
I think there were two freepers not too long ago who mentioned here that they support Rudy. The thing that I admired about both of these people is the fact that they admitted that Rudy is a liberal republican, but they were supporting him for other reasons. While I don't respect their decision to vote for a liberal republican, I respect their honesty. I think Rudy supporters here would appear a lot more honest if they would just admit that they are supporting a liberal republican. Jim Robinson, and many others here, have come to the same conclusion I have; Rudy is a liberal. His record speaks for itself.

I'm with you. How many Americans have been killed by jihadists? Now how many have been killed by abortions? You are right, Islamic countries outlow abortion completely. Since abortion is the most important issue, it's okay to be a dhimmi.

No, he got a judge to intervene. That you would have then hid behind the robes of a judge as you now support a liberal who wears a dress doesn't surprise me. Me, I'd do what I did and every guy in my family has done (and most of the women) - I volunteered. Cowards hide. Men stand up.

Yes, I'm hearing behind the scenes about very, very positive stuff.
I'm anxious for more info as Rudy travels around California this week and the Word Ag conference.
To: Rudder
I haven't chosen a candidate. Most of the GOP slate will get my vote. Rudy? Never.

Oh gee, the WaPo isn't nearly as hard on Rudy, as some people here are. LOL
A few posters on FR, have Rudy being the devil incarnate and claim that they will vote for Hillary, if he is the GOP candidate.
To: TUAN_JIM
Thanks, I intend to. And it is getting legs elsewhere.

This article is evidence to the contrary. Hardly. You'll get a room full of Rudy swooners wherever you go these days, including (say it with a deep voice) SOUTH CAROLINA (arrgh, arggh hurrumph).
