Giuliani Strikes a Note With California GOP Testing the Waters, Former N.Y. Mayor Garners 4 Ovations
SACRAMENTO, Feb. 10 -- Rudolph W. Giuliani came west to learn whether his brand of Republican politics has a chance among party members significantly more conservative than himself. By the time he had received a fourth standing ovation Saturday at the California Republican Party convention, the answer seemed clear.
Equating the U.S. fight against terrorism with the Civil War and the Cold War, Giuliani told about 750 of his party's faithful that failure in Iraq would turn that country into a "massive headquarters for terrorism."
"Having had a job where I didn't have any choice but to make a decision," the former mayor of New York said, "prepares you as best you can be prepared to be the president of the United States."

"We will never forget..."
(and as a result, never be so foolish as to put a mayor in charge of national security).
Are you good at that?
"The NUMBER ONE issue is the War on Islamic Fascism. "
And you want a dress-wearing draft-evading liberal to be your standard bearer? Wow.
Exactly! Thanks to BunnySlippers for posting these points!
Everyone in my email address book just got this!
No, Rudy lost it. I post facts. That bothers liberals. I am sorry you are bothered.

So now we are using the Left's language? They call every Republican who didn't fight in Vietnam a draft evader.
Military service None
Reason Student deferments (Manhattan College 1965; NYU Law School 1968); special deferment at request of federal judge for whom he was clerking.

After all, look what Arnold did for the California GOP!
No I'm not for Rudy...won't be voting him and hope he is not the nominee.
Source?
narses is absolutley correct. Rudy is pro-choice, supports abortion on demand, partial birth abortion, Roe V Wade and has taken money from NARAL. On abortion, on all social issues, Rudy is a hardcore leftwing extremist, in the mold of Bill Clinton, John Kerry and Ted Kennedy.
I'm with you. How many Americans have been killed by jihadists? Now how many have been killed by abortions? The numbers aren't even close. Also, Rudy has no military experience. What special qualifications does he possess to conduct the WOT? He's a great manager, but a moral degenerate.
Agree. That seems to be their strategy now. Unfortunately for them, many Socons are not one-issue voters.
I just watched the The Wall Street Journal Report on Fox News...and they had a good segment on Rudy.
They had the author of a biography about him...and the author was NOT lavish in praise for Rudy. He had criticisms...but, it seemed to the panel that Rudy's STRONG points are pretty much what the "conservatives" are wanting in their POTUS candidate.
He took New York out of bankruptcy with strong fiscal management...and of course his hardline on terrorism.

I smell another Ahnold. NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If ICE raided Santa Ana, it would be a ghost town, and the people of Orange County, California would applaud wildly at seeing the crime-ridden Mexican colonia disappear.
I remember when Orange County was a conservative base, and when Santa Ana was a decent town. The scourge is now spreading throughout the whole area and beyond, and throughout the whole U.S. soon if another amnesty is passed by the cowards.
From your standpoint: What GOP candidate is most likely to win the 2008 Presidential election?
