Border agents who testified against convicted co-workers will be fired
Men who were at scene of shooting terminated for changing their stories
by Sara A. Carter
Two Border Patrol agents who testified against two co-workers convicted of shooting a drug smuggler will be fired for changing their stories about events surrounding the shooting, according to documents obtained by the Daily Bulletin.
Sources inside the Border Patrol also say Oscar Juarez, a third agent who testified against Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, resigned from the agency last month shortly before he was to be fired.
All three agents gave sworn testimony against Ramos and Compean for the U.S. Attorney's Office, which successfully prosecuted the shooting case in March. The agents were given immunity in exchange for their testimony despite changing their accounts of the incident several
"When you give deals to witnesses like immunity, the government usually gets the testimony (it wants)," said Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, a former judge and prosecutor. "This case is a perfect example."

Given that you (DCPatroit) have the following statement on your profile:
I am fiscally conservative but somewhat liberal on social issues...especially on the topic of immigration. No apologies offered.
What you have to say on this topic carries with it all the credibility of La Raza and the ACLU.

DHS has admitted it lied about the agents saying they wanted to kill Mexicans.
Justice gave immunity to agents who changed their stories.
This is now more about one agency misbahving.
This now means there was collusion across agencies to frame these two agents. Which also means this scandal goes waay up into those agencies.

Even if Feinswine's intentions are to find dirt on the Administration - I'm all for it. Maybe there will be legitimate evidence to push for impeachment....

At this point can there truly be any doubt that this whole thing seriously reeks?

Must be something in the water in DC because there seems to be very few in that place that have a lick of sense anymore.

I am not deducing you're a conspircacy theorist based upon your reply to me.
I am for coming to the defense of someone that thinks it's perfectly legal and acceptable for law enforcement officers to shoot unarmed people running away from you without reason.
For example, it would not be justifiable to shoot Jeffrey Dahmer sneaking into the country because you later find he was a mass murderer.
This guy may well be a marijuana smuggler but he was not in or near his drug-filled van when the incident occurred.
Until you reconcile that fact, you're the naive one here.

I was a skeptic at first. No longer.
The government will not only go after inconvienent private citizens, they will railroad their own agents doing their jobs. It is out of control no matter who is running it. Because everyone is too engrossed about Anna Nicole Smith to understand that they could be next. Time to wake up the citizenry and let the government know it stops here.

It's been stated on C-SPAN that Border Patrol agent Rene Sanchez' wife is drug runner Aldrete-Davila's sister, according to one post I recently read here on FR. I'm attempting to verify that claim, but does this not give you pause? Such corruption doesn't bother you in the least?

He turned when starting to run away. That alone would get you at least Tasered on Cops, if not worse.
And three of the agents who got immunity to testify against these guys either resigned or are about to be fired for false testimony.
I was a skeptic. No longer. Wake up and smell the bullsh**.

I am not a lawyerly type, but I can tell you that if I was one of these agents, I would sure as heck rather win my appeal than be pardoned. One of those two still says I'm guilty but essentially forgiven.
The other says I was never guilty in the first place. I'd rather wait for that. And in an ironic twist of fate..being patient for the win on appeal with actually strengthen a border agents ability to do his job effectively. THAT is a point that seems to be lost in the kerfuffle.
I am always open to new and different information and said that in this case, if new official information emerged, I would change my position.. At this point, this looks like pretty good information for the defendants, and if it turns out to be true, I am thrilled. I would rather have it this way.
This entire issue has only been about histrionics around here for way too long, and the blaming the President is just plain stupid and completely ignorant of both the judicial and executive branches of our government, as well as our constitution. That said, I am pleasantly pleased, and slightly surprised, honestly, that the American legal system appears to actually be working just as it was designed. Go figure.

You do understand that there is a difference between legal citizens fleeing the police within the confines of the United States and Illegal Aliens charging across the border and fleeing "into" the United States?
I understand that you're a "business owner", and so you are in favor of illegal immigration so that you can hire workers for less. Do you also believe that the border patrol should let a half dozen people named Mohammed "flee" into the United States under similar circumstances?

LOLOL
You really need to catch up on the facts of this case as they come out on a daily basis.
In the meantime, others who have posted your own "liberal" admissions have shown me all I need to know.

Weren't the two border patrol agents criminals, who their own peers testified against - with Bush being a hero for leaving them in prison? That's what some of the mindless bots would have us think. I never heard that from anyone. Oh, and what is a "mindless bot"? DU is several sewers down the hall, they're waiting for you.

I understand your point. Still, I'd really like to know long this appeal process could take. There are six small children involved.

Thanks for the ping. Looks like the NCIS isn't the only federal agency that gets the testimony they want by plea deals.
