But it would take a Hewlitt Packard 10 key to keep track of those who won't bother to support him becuase he's "unknown"

With modern technology and communications, that is only a matter of time, money and effort. Hunter could become a household name overnight with the right kind of PR push. Osama [dang] Obama did.

Come see me in May 2008. The only way Hunter is on the ticket is as a veep, which is where I said he should aim at from the get go.

An empty suit like Obama is foisted into top tier status by the enemy media.

Surely, right wing media, if it SO CHOSE, could bump Hunter into top tier status. He is as OR MORE qualified for the job than any of the hacks running, dem or GOP.

Don't give up yet. There's still time. Us "unappeasables" will just have to work at the grassroots level and win back the party from the more tolerant ones.

Where Cheney to resign for any reason the 25th amendment requires a majority vote in both houses to confirm. The Dems would never confirm a Duncan Hunter.

Bush would try to appoint Alberto Gonzales before he would appoint Duncan Hunter. Hunter is on the same list as Tancredo -- The WH Sh*t List.

Continuous discontent in the ranks will eventually force all media to say something about what's going on, whether they want to or not.

That is not true. Hunter has been a staunch Bush ally on many issues

I'm not giving up; it's just that it seems conservatives won't even be starting this cycle. There's no nominatable conservative running.

Who?

Go ahead, name one.

This is an awesome election opportunity for the GOP, with so many candidates to choose from. We should be very skeptical of every candidate the MSM, including FoxNews drools over. So, if they are not pro-life, why trust 'em?

What I like best about Hunter: Senator McCain lost a Presidential straw pole to Representative Duncan Hunter, on McCain's home turf!

Nah...that can't be. A Presidential candidate that doesn't couch statements with "if", "perhaps", "try", "a goal", "target", "UN approval", "pending Congressional..." ...etc.

Just an unequiviocal; "I'll build it in 6 months!"

Hummmm. Duncan might be the guy!

I was thinking the same thing, but then you have to weed out the cretins who simply don't want a conservative in the White House, and hide behind the "he can't win" mantra because they're too cowardly to admit it.

"As I say, if DH is doing all this as his FIRST step in aiming for a 2012 run, then it's well planned."

It certainly isn't unknown for people to take more than one run to get elected.

A solid run this time, without Dean-like self-destruction, means a base of money and support that could be decisive in '12.

I do hope Hunter supporters lay off the conspiracy talk for this reason. Enough about how the elites won't let this or the media won't allow that.

This is the blanking internet age where quick work on FR bloodies CBS' nose and tanks Dan Ra(th)er (and conversely, where DU and Moveon and KOS claim ownership of the Dim party). The media follows *us* now.

You don't need the MSM to fawn over Hunter in order for him to be known. Tell your friends, blog your heads off, agitate for him here (as opposed to against someone else) and before vote 1 is cast in the primaries Duncan will have his shot.

But hey, we also gotta realize that he is starting from scratch here as opposed to others who are well known. He faces a long shot to win and if it doesn't happen in '08 it's not a conspiracy. Don't be the people who turn people away from Hunter because his name brings up your face (or screenname) and 'tin-foil' in their minds.
