Washington - Charlize Theron has upset Americans with comments made during a CNN interview in which she compared America and Cuba with regards to the restrictions placed on human freedom.
Theron this week made her debut as a movie producer with the movie East of Havana, a documentary film about rap singers in Cuba.
After the interview, newspapers published headlines referring to her as a "dumb blonde" and articles wondered whether she was just another Hollywood left-winger.
The New York Daily News wrote an article with the heading "Just another pretty face".
The article said that it was accepted that Charlize Theron was blonde and that now it had been proven that she was stupid as well.
Most Americans however, felt she had been treated unfairly by journalist Rick Sanchez who refused to let go of the subject while talking about the movie. There were also claims that she was quoted out of context.
Theron was criticised for saying that there was a lack of freedom in America. She said that TV reporters in the US were fired for commenting about the US war, just like rap singers in Cuba had to show their lyrics before they were allowed to perform.
Theron also said she loved America, however, and this is why she lived in the US
But did they call her an "African American?"
Isn't she from South Africa? I've cease to be impressed with South Africans, ever since Margaret Marshall's idiotic decisions.
I certainly can't wait to see it! I love rap music so. /s
Whether or not Charlize was hoodwinked into saying this, she obviously feels it's true. Guess when you're a famous Hollywood actor, you don't have to deal with actual facts in your statements - you're acting, either way.
The fact that she can make these statements, have them published by a free (but ignorant) media, and not be thrown into a prison gives lie to her claims.

Charlize Theron sued for wearing Dior watch

A Swiss watchmaker is suing the Hollywood actress Charlize Theron for allegedly breaking an endorsement deal to wear only its timepieces.
According to court papers filed in Manhattan by the Raymond Weil company, the South African star has also been photographed wearing watches made by Christian Dior, which has been paying her to promote its perfumes.
Weil claims that Theron, who won a best actress Oscar for Monster in 2003, was paid "substantial funds" so the company could use photographs of her in its advertisements.
A photograph of Theron, 31, wearing a Dior watch at a film festival news conference in Texas was included as an exhibit.
The watchmaker also complained that an advertisement for an Aids charity, in which Theron was wearing a non-Raymond Weil necklace, also breached the terms of the deal, which ran for 11 months last year.
David Jaroslawicz, the company's lawyer, said: "She has two hands and felt she could take money from two places at the same time."
Although the lawsuit, which alleges fraud and breach of contract, doesn't specify the level of damages being sought, Weil said it had spent more than £10 million on the Theron advertising campaign.

I think I'll pass on the opportunity to see this one.
If you stood on a street corner in either Hollywood or Havana and loudly criticized President Bush, nothing would happen to you. But if you criticized Castro instead, you'd probably be arrested in both places. So I guess the airheads have a point.
Her comments aside, we have rules around here...
I believe she is from South Africa, but of course just like Harry Belafonte and the Paltrow woman she has to work in this wretched country to amke any money.
Another beauty reveals her vacuity. Dang.
She can stay in Cuba, or return to her homeland of South Africa then. Another Hollywood bimbo speaks from her all-knowing perch.
I would wager that many of them, in spite of their comments, do not think that way.
The really interesting aspect to the Hollywierd crowd is the fact that the majority of them build their fortunes as the result of advice from high-paid financial consultants who guide them into investments in 100% CAPITALIST enterprises such as income-producing real estate, operating businesses, stocks and bonds. Go figure.
They must put something in the drinks at those award shows.
