Well, it just tears you up, yes it does, to read about the loneliness of Sen. John Kerry. The 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, reports The New York Times, is rather forlorn these days. It seems he was never really a team player in the Senate, a bit cold and aloof y'know, and when he made a speech in the Senate announcing he wasn't going to run for president next time out, only two senators were in attendance -- his Massachusetts colleague Ted Kennedy and Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada.
Pundits are feasting on Kerry's failures as if he were carrion on the desert, and even his defenders aren't helping much. Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont said Kerry was still big news outside the U.S.: "John was treated like a rock star in Switzerland." Good grief. You know you're in trouble when your friends are saying you are a rock star in Switzerland. That's like a faded movie queen saying, "Well, yes, it's been 30 years since I made a picture, but in Botswana there are monuments to me."
In fact, the solution for John Kerry is simple, and it comes without a bill attached (his presidential campaign consultant was reported to have pulled down over $100 million -- for losing). It's simple, down-home advice: Pick yourself up, start over in a new place, don't be afraid to begin at the political bottom, and rise again, brother. [snip] ...what about moving to Raleigh...

Michael Jackson is still huge in Asia, or so I've heard.
Now go shove a ketchup bottle!!! Do it now!!!
"First, what about moving to Raleigh, getting yourself a nice cozy downtown condo, and laying the groundwork for an at-large City Council bid?"
I'll pay for the plane tickets myself.
Or at least pay for the gas for Mama T's jet.
What's the name of her plane do you ask?
"The Flying Squirrel!"
Aloof and cold? Hell, he was never there!
The Rocky huh?
When I first saw Raleigh I thought it was a reference to the bicycle. Live Shot rides a $3,500 bike, and when Nurse Fuzzy Wuzzy finally tosses him out, he'll be riding a more humble set of wheels.
Don't kick Kerry! Let him convince the Democrats that he is right to be the 2012 presidential candidate, and THEN kick him.
That's a cute piece, but what the author describes is way too much work for John Kerry.
I don't live in the triangle anymore, infact I haven't for a while, but I am sure the good-ole people of N.C. wouldn't appreciate the traitor John Kerry moving to their home state; I know the sentiments since I used to be a N. Carolinian! Massachusetts can keep him; I am sure the majority of people from North Carolina agree (even liberal Raleigh types..).

No doubts, all the "uneducated" illiterates at Fort Bragg and Camp Lejeune would look forward to having John Kerry around to edumacate them.
He'll feel better when he becomes senior senator fro MA after Ted gives his seat to nephew Joe, Jr. ("mean as a snake, dumb as a post")
Um, no. We already have too many damn yankees down here as it is. Starting later in 2007, I vote we shut down our borders and make 'em all stay up there.
You scared the $#!+ outta me with this ping. I was slammin' on my boots ; )
(Not to walk...to kick sumpthin'. Anything. : )
Seems he was too busy talking to other foreign leaders that wanted him to to be POTUS to take care of what the people in the US actually wanted. I could not believe it when he came out with that statement. That he actually thought the American people would put foreign interests above their own was just astounding. He should move to France and become the big fish in a little pond just like his cousin. France is where he really belongs.
I know just where Jon Cary should take up residence now:
Vichy, France
Though it's no longer the seat of the craven and pathetic WWII version of a French government, Jon Cary would find the spirit and historical resonance of the place perfect......
