Well, on the positive side, she did beat out PBS and the UHF stations. "We are very pleased with Katie's performance. She is getting the demographic we have been aiming at for years - the UHF and PBS viewer. They are the ones that advertisers cherish. Their decision to put her in that chair, given the widespread disgust for her overt bias within the demographic of people inclined to watch evening news as opposed to the morning glossies, has got to be the most arrogantly incompetent strategic miscalculation made by any network executives anywhere in the last couple of decades- they have only themselves to blame.

We HAVE to be concerned about the old "news" media.

They - the pimps and liberal presstitues who feed on each other ARE the reason the liberals have their power base in Washington and in NY. THEY are the reason (their propaganda actually) that Bush is becoming more liberal, and THEY are the reason that conservatives are NOT getting their message to the American people on ANY issue.

The repubbies talk to the media.
The media ignores their words, lies about what they say, distorts what they what do report, and promotes the liberals who lie about what THEY want to, the promote those lies again and again and again ....

Any person - no matter what their faith - subjected to years of propaganda will begin to believe that propaganda unless some truth can filter in.

And ABBCNNBCBS represent the worst - the most effective - of the propagandists.

CBS should have hired a MUCH YOUNGER, HOT guy or female to READ the news. If it was a really hot GUY, many of us ladies would least tune in and mute the sound while preparing dinner. :-)

One of the fastest "Shark jumps" we've seen in a while. Maybe "new coke" or the return of the Edsel were faster but on tv this might be the winner. Hey at least she is first in something!

Strange, but it's not really surprising to me that the creaky MF with all its hokey cornpone is beating CBS News. I've actually known quite a few kids over the last decade (upper income, urban area, highly sophisticated snowboarding, hip-hop i-podding, 12 y o & under children with all the typical gadgets & accoutrements their economic bracket conveys) who watch that show religiously & I don't think they're alone.

I guess that show serves for them the same purpose as watching ancient "Beverly Hillbillies" reruns after school did for xers growing up?

We don't have cable in the kitchen and the stupid under the counter TV sometimes only gets UHF. That's the best program on at the time I'm usually making dinner on UHF.
