Rudy’s Dark Side (barf alert)
msnbc ^ | 2 6 07 | Jonathan Alter

Feb. 6, 2007 - Over the last decade, I’ve seen both good Rudy and bad Rudy up close. The question for voters as he enters the presidential campaign is: which Rudy Giuliani will show up on the trail—and which Rudy would go to work in the White House? And if even a little of the bad Rudy is still around, does that make him temperamentally unsuited to the presidency?

I'm stunned! You'd rather have Hillary than Rudy ..??

No I just don't care. Because I realize it will no big difference. Hillary, Rudy, George, Al, Bill, whatever. It's not apathy, it's a realization that nothing will change as long as the citizens of the respective states are told they must choose between the party of big government or the party of big government.

No wonder America is in so much trouble!

These United States are in trouble for far more reasons than whether I care which hack gets into office

100% correct, I will NOT be voting for McGiuliRomney under ANY circumstances. Nor, of course, her Shrillaryness. None of them merits any rational consideration from any PRINCIPLED Constitutional Conservative. But if it's only all about winning, about that magical (r) talisman, then by all means give it your best. It's NOT a game, however. It's the future of the Republic that the Founders gave us. And YOU are helping to ensure its demise with your utter lack of principles and integrity. Winning at any cost is going to cost us our Republic.

It's not like we have a whole to choose from. If there is such a strong Republican conservative movement (which we all wish was the case), why are we having such a hard time finding a dynamic conservative candidate? Why are we recycling Newt or looking to a relatively unknown from California, or a couple of so-called "rinos"? We need some new up and coming "personable" conservatives. Right now I don't see any. Had Santorum not crashed and burned he probably would have been good on a ticket.

Because our best bets were all targetted by the Dems--and by certain people within our own party. This situation didn't happen in a vaccuum. Personally, I blame the president for not giving Cheney the heave-ho after 2004 and putting an heir-apparent in the VP spot. I remember saying back in 2002 that we didn't have an heir-apparent and we still don't.

This all, of course, feeds into my tin-foil theory about the Bushs and Clintons only pretending to be adversaries...

All right, all right, we get it, you're clever, you're wittyRudy's an evil character from Lord Of The Rings. Enough.

"There is no victory over the power that has risen in the East." (Denethor - OR The RINOs that say it is either Julie-Annie or Hitlery.)

You are not clever or witty? Thin skinned and humorless like a liberal?

So, let me get this logic of yours correct. It's not about winning...it's about getting it EXACTLY the way you think it should be. So, by not voting, and allowing a known liberal to get into office, this will help our Republic, how? Get off your high horse and start living in the real world. Ya know what...do us all a favor and just don't vote at all. I'm really getting tired of this I JUST WON'T VOTE crap. WHO THE FREAK CARES if you don't vote.

The ultimate goal is to get a conservative elected president. Rudy does not help advance that agenda one iota.

So, what exactly are you doing towards accomplishing that goal, besides spewing crap on FreeRepublic. I'm curious.

I didn't realize we are all of one mind here. Plus, this really cracks me up...do you really think team Guiliani really cares about FR support? If Jim Robinson wants this to become an anti-Guiliani site, fine...let him just come out and say it.

Until then, I'll assume FR is a site of free ideas as it always has been.

I've never known one day here, wherein everyone has agreed with everyone else...lol.

I have not selected "my" candidate yet, but there are positions I like and dislike about each of the candidates.

I will be voting for the GOP nominee in the general election, regardless.

"So, by not voting, and allowing a known liberal to get into office, this will help our Republic, how?"

Let me correct this:

"So, by voting for McGiuliRomney and allowing a KNOWN liberal to get into office, this will help our Republic how?"

Keep in mind that McGiuliRomney is "conservative" ONLY in comparison to Shrillary or Osama Obama... but they still mean no good for this country. And they are totally UNFIT for ANY public office, let alone the Presidency.

I live in the "real" world... the world where government is run amok and where taxation and spending and more controls on how I live NEVER go away, no matter WHO is in office. And YOU want more of the same. By voting for McGiuliRonmey, that is exactly what you will be bringing on this country. So why don't YOU get real and start working for REAL reform and real shrinkage of FedGov back to its Constitutional limits? No thanks to you for your support of more of the same. You should be hanging your head in abject shame.

"We need to make government so small that it can be drowned in a bathtub."

I don't mind reading what Jim has to say and taking it under advice, but now I just skip over the posts of the Rudy thread hijackers.
