Welcome to Sanity Island

President Bush traveled to Manassas, Virginia today where he addressed a crowd at Micron Technology Virginia on Fiscal Responsibility.

The full text of his remarks can be read here.

Ninety six years ago today, our fortieth president was born, and later tonight, Former First Lady Nancy Reagan will present our nation’s forty-first president, George Herbert Walker Bush, with the 2007 Ronald Reagan Freedom Award at a gala dinner in Beverly Hills, CA at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

To honor President Ronald Reagan on the anniversary of his birthday, President George W. Bush has designated United States Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton to place a wreath on President Reagan’s gravesite on his behalf. Colonel James B. Seaton III, Commanding Officer at Camp Pendleton, will conduct the ceremony, which will commence at 11:00 a.m. with a music prelude beginning at 10:30 a.m. by the Camp Pendleton band and the United States Naval Academy Men’s Glee Club. The ceremony includes a color guard, chaplain, a brass quintet, a 21-gun salute, the placing of an official wreath from the White House on President Reagan’s gravesite, and a fly-over by the March Air Reserve Base. The ceremony’s guest speaker will be the Honorable Edwin Meese, former Attorney General under President Reagan, who will deliver personal remarks. The ceremony will be held at President Reagan’s Memorial Site at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, located at 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley, California 93065.

"We had 70 and sunshine today. It was nice."

Lucky you.

We had lots of snow, accidents on the interstates, got off work early to miss rush hour.

We're supposed to get more snow tomorrow.

Sunday night was -2, Monday was -3. It is supposed to warm up tomorrow.

Contents of biscuits. It had some lovely hot chocolate in it too. Thank you snugs. It will be an adventure as I've not seen anything similar here in the states.

Yes, I think those two newcomers should be forced to adopt new, non-confusing, names. Something like fistfingers and ultramarine. :)

We are currently going through similar issues here with my husband's parents.....although his father was in the hospital which allowed us to get a case worker involved and push the home health care option (his Father was adamantly opposed).....and upon arrival at home they turned home health away (he was able to walk with walker to both bathrooms)....but subsequently has fallen, and now is having problems.....oh, well, so starting again.....hope everything works out well for you in your search!

OUCH - That sounds painful! A good chair does help. I usually sit at my dining table, but if I know it's going to be a loooong computer day, I drag out my office chair.

I guess I just like to sit in the middle of the house. My office is at one end. Too isolated. AND, I have my TV in full view if in the DR. It just doesn't get better than that....a laptop and a flat-screen TV.

snugs - I bought some Heinz Light Salad Creme at my local market this weekend. They always carry a nice selection of foods from UK. What do I do with it GF? LOL. Use it just like our mayonnaise, I suppose, as a spread on sandwiches, etc.?
