If they had found a Snickers wrapper nearby, it would be perfect.

Yep, and now some dumba$$ researcher is going to stick them in separate boxes on a shelf somewhere. I understand the desire to excavate ancient sites, including ancient graves, to learn about our ancestors, but I feel strongly that the bodies should be LEFT IN THE GROUND. Ask yourself whether you want someone digging up the bodies of your friends, loved ones, or children in 5000 years just to find out if they were buried with anything "neat".

Menotti said she believed the two, almost certainly a man and a woman although that needs to be confirmed,I can just see the headline now: "Gay Marriage Dates Back Millenia! Archeologists Show Dead Gay Embrace!"
One leading PhD on the research team says it was a foregone conclusion that they were gay. We found a Snickers wrapper between them . . .

"But I've never been so moved because this is the discovery of something special"... they said as they pulled the bones out of the dig. Seriously, did they end up desecrating the site or will they leave them alone, intact and in place, to continue their eternal rest?

Well, that was my first thought too. The archaeologists aren't mentioning that so I guess that they don't think that is the case. That means that someone must have posed them that way. I do have to wonder how they happened to die so close together in time though.

That's probably it. Maybe a plague of some sort.

They died of the plague? I don't know...
....died young because their teeth were mostly intact and not worn down.
Evidentley, it wasn't from plaque......

They each had arrowheads found in them: the man in his spinal column, the woman in her side.

I do wish they'd not break up the embrace, though.

Now that's something interesting. I wonder what killed them both at the same time. I've been to Pompeii and the dead guy under glass is pretty wild, but this is totally unique.
