he says so, but he votes much otherwise.

How do you know how he votes? Were you in the booth with him?

Just for your information, even though the pink triangle was used to mark homosexuals by Hitler, the homesexuals have now embraced it as one of their "gay pride" symbols.

Are you insinuating that the poster who posted the pink triangles was gay?

Actually I'm going to be so they can just continue with their circular logic.

I'll leave them with this one.

Reagan said this about compromise:

When I began entering into the give and take of legislative bargaining in Sacramento, a lot of the most radical conservatives who had supported me during the election didn't like it. "Compromise" was a dirty word to them and they wouldn't face the fact that we couldn't get all of what we wanted today. They wanted all or nothing and they wanted it all at once. If you don't get it all, some said, don't take anything.

I'd learned while negotiating union contracts that you seldom got everything you asked for. And I agreed with FDR, who said in 1933: 'I have no expectations of making a hit every time I come to bat. What I seek is the highest possible batting average.'

If you got seventy-five or eighty percent of what you were asking for, I say, you take it and fight for the rest later, and that's what I told these radical conservatives who never got used to it.

~~ Ronald Reagan, in his autobiography, An American Life .

He is just a social LIBERAL! The base... the conservative right wing, of which I am a proud member, will never support Rudy.

Th electorate just kicked the GOP base in the balls, tossing out many conservatives in a GOP bloodletting.

Did you draw a lesson from that? Care to share?

Yes, but Evie spoke of requiring they be worn. That's simply not defensible, even with a shabby sarcasm tag glued on.

REGULARS by any other name means "illegals". Amnesty for illegals. It's not a lie. It is what he is saying in CODE.

Wouldn't it be nice, if we Republicans didn't form a circle and start shooting at each other the minute election season starts?

Naive?

No practical.

Lets unite behind logical debate and get rid of the nastygrams and find a way to get behind a good man who is also a good candidate without smacking each other down.

Lets focus on planning on getting the right man nominated and then having him win.

Thats just me, I could be wrong.

JR doesn't continuously litter every single Rudy thread with spam or obscenely rude comments like #434.

As far as your comment, "I still think Rudy lost at least 5,000,000 conservatives tonight.", then why are you guys so worried?? Why don't you just laugh it off if he doesn't have a chance?

you can get a legal gun in NYC - it's not easy (from what I understand), especially for carry, but it is possible.

Thank you Howlin

Hey narse.... is Rudy still a draft dodger, or for that matter do you consider GW one too? I seem to recall some talk about something like that about him

A draft dodger, draft evader or draft resister, is a person who avoids ("dodges") or otherwise violates the conscription policies of the nation in which he or she is a citizen or resident, by leaving the country, going into hiding, attempting to fraudulently obtain conscientious objector status, or by open resistance (civil disobedience). Although it originated earlier, the term became popular during the Vietnam War to describe citizens of the United States who dodged the mandatory conscription policy, in order to avoid serving in the war, by leaving the country, originally to Sweden, but later in greater numbers to Canada, or (much less often) Mexico. The term may be applied to individuals who avoid military service by other means.

The motivations for draft dodgers and resisters are manifold. Some are individuals who merely wish to avoid the dangers of combat (and may otherwise support the war in question). Others have political or moral objections to warfare in general, or to the circumstances of a particular conflict in which their country is fighting.

Avoidance of the draft is considered a criminal offense in most countries where conscription is in effect.
