Oh Gee, did I forget his "Well, I do believe marriage should be between a man and a woman (gosh, that's swell, Rudy), but we do need domestic partnerships to respect the rights of all.....blah blah Leftist Claptrap".

As a recent and rather well known poster said, we don't need any laws that mention homosexuality. Except, perhaps, if the people so choose, the ones that punish certain acts and elements of it.

But only if they so choose. Which really IS their right.

What a great story! You are indeed from good stock. I wonder if your grandfather worked in the mines at Matewan. The reason I wonder is that there were many Italians who were brought in to work that mine. If you have never seen the movie "Matewan" be sure to find a CD or video and watch it. You will see what your grandfather lived through. And, I'm glad you have a deep love for the country. She has been a great experiment, but I fear for her now.

He wants the States to make the decisions, as I do.

That is not true.

Overturning Roe v. Wade would return abortion laws to the state level. Giuliani opposes overturning Roe v. Wade. Therefore, he does not support having the States make the decisions on abortion.

The Federal Marriage Amendment, co-authored by strict constructionist, states rights champion, Judge Robert Bork would have allowed states to outlaw gay marriage/civil unions/domestic partnerships at their level without federal judicial activist interference. Giuliani opposed the Federal Marriage Amendment. Therefore, he does not want the states to make the decision on whether they have to recognize gay marriage.

Giuliani opposed the Partial Birth Abortion ban that the was passed by a Republican-controlled Congress and signed into law by President Bush. Some want to pretend that he opposed the ban because they want to say that he believed that it is a state issue. Yet, Giuliani also opposed the New York State Partial Birth Abortion Ban. Therfore, he doesn't want to have the states - specifically New York state - make the decision on the most disgusting and brutal form of murder we've invented in this country.

There is no evidence that has been provided by anyone here that his social issue positions are based upon them being better legislated at a state level. It is just something that the Rudy-rooters made up to rationalize Giuliani's opposition to the majority of the socially conservative Republican Party Platform. It is an excuse for supporting the most liberal major Republican Presidential candidate in U.S. history.

Was there a picture in there that just didn't show up on my screen?

And actually, upthread, I mentioned that I did vote for Reagan twice :-)

Even though he wasn't quite perfect! LOL

Ummm. I think he got divorced. And as for being corrupt, evidence please. Or do you accuse him of being corrput because he was a Federal Prosecutor, and therefore a lawyer, and therefore corrupt.

Clinton was corrupt. It was proven, and he was impeached.

If Rudy is corrupt, facts please. I do not deal with issues based on innuendo and hearsay.

“And even as we grieve for those who lost their lives, and our hearts and prayers go out to the victims and their loved ones, we may be able to find some sort of meaning in this tragedy by using it as a catalyst to revive national gun control efforts.” Rudolph Giuliani

Gee. That doesn't sound like the nice man I just heard speaking on TV. I wonder why?

(Rudy has taken flight and he's not gonna be stopped.

Your inane attempts to stop him at this critical juncture have all been in vain.

I think you need to rest now.)

People in this country won't suppoert another Bushie type presidency. So if you want to avoid Hillary you must support Rudy.
Just like Bush was the result of Clinton don't let Clinton be the result of Bush.Rudy all the way.
Rudy is our best hope and NOT a bad choice.

Just remeber what the Bushies have done.Made sure that Exxon got their huge tax cuts for biggest profits in history.
But I can't play poker on the internet...WTF.

Remember when Rudy split up with his wife, he moved in with a gay couple. Oh yeah, he's the savior of the Republican party.

He said he would appoint judges like Alito and Roberts. They are the ones who will ultimately make this decision, am I right or wrong. I don't believe the President has any power to overturn Roe v. Wade. PLEASE, PLEASE correct me if I'm in error.
