Mayors don't have a veto pen; at least they don't in N.Y.C.!

I'll bet you actually looked up the city charter to find out.

Thanks.

Social issues should be left to the states.

That's what liberals say when conservatives start talking about rolling back liberal policies.

If winning means you support abortion on demand, gun control, 'gay rights' and the rest of the Hillary/Rudy agenda, well then enjoy winning without me. The problem you (and RINO Rudy) face are the primaries. And the rest of the GOP activists like me. So do your happy dance tonight that your crossdressing gungrabber anounced. But do not pretend he is mainstream GOP. He is not.
I’m pro-choice. I’m pro-gay rights, Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. “No, I have not supported that, and I don’t see my position on that changing,” he responded. Source: CNN.com, “Inside Politics” Dec 2, 1999 http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Rudy_Giuliani_Abortion.htm

ANDERSON COOPER 360 DEGREES (November 14, 2006)

RUDY GIULIANI (R), FORMER MAYOR OF NEW YORK CITY: I'm pro- choice. I'm pro-gay rights.

KING: Giuliani supports a woman's right to an abortion, and back in 1999, he opposed a federal ban on late-term abortions.

GIULIANI: No, I have not supported that, and I don't see my position on that changing.

KING: Immigration could be another presidential landmine. Back in 1996, Mayor Giuliani went to federal court to challenge new federal laws requiring the city to inform the federal government about illegal immigrants.

JEFFREY: He took the side of illegal immigrants in New York City against the Republican Congress.

KING: Giuliani opposes same-sex marriage but as mayor, he supported civil unions and extending health and other benefits to gay couples. He also supported the assault weapons ban and other gun control measures opposed by the National Rifle Association.

GIULIANI: I'm in favor of gun control. I'm pro-choice.

Republican Big-Wigs Support Pro-Abortion Event in NY

Pro-abortion Governor George Pataki and New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who also supports unrestricted abortion, are co-chairs of the 2000 Choice Award Presentation to be held on May 30 at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. The event is sponsored by the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition, a group that is campaigning for the removal of the pro-life plank from the Republican National Platform.

I just watched the replay. He said he is for domestic partner law and for gays to have equal rights...are you against that?

By gay "domestic partnership" he wants to give gay partners the same benefits as married couples. He wants them to be married with out being "Married" because by saying that he's for "gay marriage" he knows he commits political suicide. By saying he's for basically the same thing as gay marriage without calling it that, he can support the radical gay agenda (as he's done his entire career) while benefitting from the votes given to him by gullible Republicans who SHOULD know better.

By "equal rights" for gays, he's advocating for an openly gay military, gay adoption, etc, etc. He is advancing the radical gay agenda as fast as he can without committing political suicide within the Republican Party. But when you look at the truth - what he's said in the past when he was not running for the Republican nomination, what his policies were while he was Mayor, and the radical gay groups with which he voluntarily associated himself, you see clearly where he stands on the issue and how repulsive it is to traditional Republicans who stand by the platform.

Why don't you tell me what I've made up about Reagan. This is what I've said about him on this thread?

1) Reagan was divorced. True
2) Reagan married Nancy when she was pregnant. True
3) Reagan signed what was the most liberal abortion legislation in the nation while he was Governor. True
4) Reagan signed amnesty legislation. True
5) Reagan increased taxes 4 times. True
6) Gave us two lousy Supreme Court Judges. True

Pushing the Abortion issue ahead of all other issues, when our country and Europe are ripe for war with Islamofacists, with Iran on the verge of getting a NUKE... and all who wish for our women to all be in Burkas is like demanding a pay raise, instead of being thankful that you have a job, when others are getting laid off.

It's not that abortion isn't important, it's that we're in the midst of trying to SAVE our country..... after the world is a safer place can we give greater consideration to abortion issues.

BTW, most Republicans are NOT getting Abortions. It's the Democrats .... and I wish to have fewer of them right now.

You did not see it, so how do you "know" what it was? I was on that thread, when it was still up. I read it. I replied to the poster. I KNOW exactly what it said; you don't!

I didn't say that the poster is an anti-Semite.

You are attempting, yet again, to lie. You have a rather nasty habit..............YOU LIE; you also put words into others' mouths, that were never said/posted.

I merely gave you a history lesson and you can't stand it, that you are being shown for who and what you are.

If you could manage to ONLY post about that which you know a great deal about, you wouldn't keep finding yourself in that deep, dank hole, you keep on digging for yourself.

You know what all the foaming on FR about Rudy reminds me of? What the left was saying about Reagan in '79 and '80. "He's a bomb-thrower. He'll leads us right into World War 3." The hard right is saying about Rudy, "He's a gun-grabber. He'll lead us right into the demise of the republic." Reagan proved the hard left wrong, and became a highly effective President who left the country in better shape than when he took office. I think Rudy will prove the hard right wrong, and will be a highly effective President who will leave the country in better shape than when he took office.

Rudy has taken flight and he's not gonna be stopped.

Your inane attempts to stop him at this critical juncture have all been in vain.

I think you need to rest now.

Color you clueless. I must be older than you because I remember clearly when Republicans WANTED states to have control over almost everything, including social instead, vs. having the federal government legislate everything.

But keep making stuff up. It's clearly all you have.

While he was the “Republican Mayor” of New York City he appointed more than 60 men and women to the Civil, Criminal, and Family Court benchs. In all of those judicial appointment not one of them was a Republican.

All of his judical appointments were either registered Liberals or registered Democrats. As the “Republican Mayor” he had appointment power over more than 70 full commissioners in more than 50 City agencies, yet at no time during his administration did REPUBLICANS account for more than 10% of those appointments.

He even appointed Chuck Schumers wife as the City’s Department of Transportation Commissioner.
