When the members of the Republican party betray the sound conservative principles of its founders and its own longstanding party platform and then vote in a leader whose personal beliefs and public record are more in line with those of the degenerate socialist Democrat party, then obviously the Republican party is sliding to the left. When large numbers of the members of a conservative party enthusiastically (you might even say overzealously or militantly) campaign for a social liberal and against sound conservative principles and candidates, then they are pushing the conservative principles, conservative candidates and conservative members out the exit doors.
Should the large number of members militantly campaigning for a socialist liberal for the presidency win out, and the only choices presented to the electorate by the two major political parties both share identical immoral socialist liberal ideologies, and the voter is left with voting for a socialist or a socialist, then obviously the resultant elected government will be a socialist government.
When the Republican Party abandons its conservative principles and abandons its fight against encroaching socialism, then obviously it is no longer a conservative party and we no longer have a major party fighting for traditional American values and against socialism.
When the American people abandon their longstanding traditional conservative family values and instead openly embrace socialism and perverted lifestyles, then America has moved left and is obviously no longer a traditional conservative nation.
When and if the American people abandon their traditional Judeo-Christian morality and traditional American conservative values, and instead opt for corrupt godless liberal/socialist immorality and perversion as the norm, then obviously America will have lost its way.
America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. The Founding Fathers warned us that our style of Republican government would only work for a moral society. When and if we as a nation turn our backs on God and the nation abandons our American traditional Judeo-Christian morals and values, and rampant godless socialism takes over, the America of our Founders ceases to exist.
You can spin it, twist it, deny it, make a million excuses and logical explanations for why electing a social liberal at this time is a good idea, but you cannot deny the simple truth. A social liberal is a liberal and liberals begat liberalism. Liberalism begats socialism. Our nation was founded on the self-evident truth that our unalienable rights come from God. Socialists deny God exists. Socialists say our rights come from men in government robes. What men in government robes give, other men in government robes can take away. Without God we have no unalienable rights. No unalienable rights means no freedom. No freedom means no America.
Since it won't by 2008, and if it's Julie Annie vs Rodham, most of us here will hold our noses and vote for Julie, who'll govern like the present POTUS, you can bet, and if he loses, Rodham will govern like the present POTUS, only with more scandals and corruption, and more participation of Jewish incompetents like Donna Sha-la-la and Janet Reno in her cabinet.
I think term limits would help more than anything. Help stop the corruption.
I have been saying this for some time now but every time I do I get flamed. I believe that if people started supporting the Constitution Party, The Repubs, in fear of loosing their former base, would do an about face on a lot of this leftist $&!+.
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TRUE.
And so gut wrenchingly sadly true. Horrific. I look at all the likely candidates the puppet masters have so skillfully put forward on both sides . . . and I get sick in my gut.
Great article, Jim. Thanks for bothering. We need you on such matters. We need you BIG.
Though . . . heh heh, I don't think the founder would have trounced you for leaving off the "vanity" tag.
Seriously--this is an important article worth FRONT PAGE BILLING.
The 'therefore what' is troubling, Jim. Do you have any creative exhortations on that score?
That may need said louder and clearer about not suggesting a 3rd party.
And . . . maybe some brainstorming at therefore what.
LOL. No. I'm suggesting we stick to the pro-life, pro-marriage, pro-gun, pro-individual freedom, small government, low tax, strong national defense principles and shun the liberal candidates. You know. Kinda like we would expect from conservative REPUBLICANS.
= = =
But it seems to me we have to do that better than we did the last election.
What are some viable BETTER ways?
I'm beginning to think that politics is a woeful means of promoting traditional values in a society. The scriptures, which, hopefully, inform our values, tell us, "The king is not saved by a mighty army; a warrior is not delivered by a great strength. A horse is a false hope for victory; nor does it delivery anyone by its strength...Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield...Let Thy lovingkindness, O Lord, be upon us, according as we have hoped in Thee." (Ps. 149:5-9) And again: "Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unles the LORD guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain." (Ps. 127:1) And again: "Many seek an audience with the ruler, but it is from the Lord that a man gets justice." (Prov. 29:26) I'm beginning to think that the reason we are not seeing conservative social values washing over this nation is that those of us who have revered those values most have looked toward the agency of men -- politicians, parties, the ideologies of men -- to bring us victory. Maybe there hasn't been enough trust in One through whom true victory comes.
I think what we're seeing in the frustration of conservative values in politics is the inherent inability of politics to produce the kind of results we desire. We've attempted a "top-down" strategy of reforming society. At best, I considered the election of Geo. W. Bush in 2000 as a holding pattern....To stop the bus from going over the cliff and into the abyss, and to give those of us with conservative social values the time to work to rectify much of the damage produced by 40 years of liberal courts and reverse the corrosive effective of secular humanism on the nation. After six years, we haven't made much progress. In fact, "conservatism" began to sour on me when I saw many here on FR supporting Michael Schiavo and Judge Geo. Greer in their efforts to murder a helpless woman, loved by her family, all under the auspices of the laws of the state (Terri Schiavo was sacrificed on the altar of "states rights," if I correctly read many of the posts here on FR during that horrible few weeks in 2005). Political conservatism has largely failed in its effort to reform society. Maybe we should stop looking to politics, and politicians, and platforms, and ideologies to save this nation. (Certainly screaming "God, guns, gays!" at the top of our lungs at those who should be our allies isn't very effective; the pathetic state of conservatism at presenent is probably best seen in the fact that we do a pretty good job of eating each other for breakfast.)
I don't claim to speak for anyone other than myself. But if my opinion represents a significant portion of the conservative Christian community, we may end up bailing out on politics in 2008, not because Rudy Giuliani or John McCain is the nominee, but because for all our efforts to right the ship, we haven't seen much progress, and we've reached the conclusion that politics has proven to be a false hope.
I agree that governors could be a better president because of executive experience. That doesn't preclude Duncan Hunter from having real talents for being a good president.
Support the conservative party platform. Support the conservative candidates. Do not allow the so-called "social conservatives" to strip the pro-life, pro-marriage, pro-family, pro-founders, pro-Creator, pro-unalienable planks from the platform. Do not allow serious consideration of any pro-choice, pro-gay, anti-second amendment candidate. Just say NO to all that socialist malarkey.
I'm with you 100 percent. Someone earlier posted to you that there is a difference between social liberals and socialists. To me, social liberals bring about the breakdown of moral values in society. Losing our moral compass eventually leads to socialism. Just look at Europe where the churches are nearly empty.
I can promise anyone who cares, if Rudy is the nominee, he will not get my vote. Never!!
Certainly, Jim.
But there are a lot of willing folks on FR who need to be led by the hand in how to do that in their local areas. A lot of FREEPERS have not ever gotten that close to grass roots precinct political activism. And there's a wealth of experts hereon who could come up with flow charts or 1,2,3 steps or whatever that would make it crystal clear and easy for even ignorant novices with conservative hearts to go out and do good along precisely the lines you outlined.
But I don't recall seeing such CONSERVATIVE POLITICS FOR DUMMIES hereron.
And, it's not to insult conservatives. A lot of folks just have super busy lives and have never slowed down or gotten their feet wet and hands dirty in such matters. And they are clueless about how to begin--not because of IQ but because of choosing chronically other priorities in their busy lives, their whole lives.
But they NOW see the outrageous hazards to the Republic and for the first time are willing to take action.
What can we give them in tidy packaged, clear, step by step form that will help them go out and do precisely what you said?
Thanks tons BTW, for your sharp as ever and kind reply.
As far as I'm concerned they are bothe energetically in the service of satan whether they realize it consciously, or not.
This "vanity" needs to be in Breaking and pinned, imo
I have a question -- why do we conservatives assume we must have our home in the Republican party? Why not "infiltrate" the Democrat party and promote candidates based on their conservative values, instead of party affiliation?
To some extent, I hear this is already happening, with the Democrats fielding more conservative candidates in this past election. There are a lot of wedge issues (affirmative action for one) where we could really get a lot more people on our side, if we could dilute both party brands a bit and have them vote on the issues, instead of just binary Republican/Democrat.
Just some thoughts.
