Breaking on Fox News. Giuliani Files Statement of Candidacy for President
No article yet.
He did aways with set asides, that IS a fact! As you people keep saying, look at what he has DONE! And BTW, there really isn't all that much a mayor can do about affirmative action. But he and Herman Badillo got CCNY to do away with open enrollment and their affirmative action admittance program.
I don't believe he has said anything about getting the US out of the UN, thus far; however, he DID crack down on the UN, tried to get the immunity erased, so that members could be tried for crimes ( he did manage to get some headway there ), and never acceded to their demands.
Chicago, though a DEM city, was never in the mess that N.Y.C. was, nor was it attacked my terrorist; the plans to have planes hit the SEARS TOWER and/or the HANDCOCK BULIDING were squashed by OBL.
You are biased; no matter WHAT you read, you won't accept the facts.
The thing about Rudy is, he has been a NATIONAL figure for many decades. He IS a known commodity and most people know all about him; warts and all and they still LIKE him.
Didn't the kerry people in '04 pull that crap? Weren't television stations threatened with law suits if they showed that anti-kerry movie. IIRC, there were a few things that wasn't allowed to air about him at the time. The threat of a lawsuit was enough to stop them in their tracks.
Are the Rudy people going to pull a kerry now?
You really need to read up on slander law. It has almost no relevance in political advertising. And especially when you use actual photos and actual quotes - that's not even slander outside of politics.
I doubt the views of one misinformed Rudy booster is indicative of the larger campaign. I certain hope it is.
The United States has been sliding further into socialism ever since Reagan left office. The Democrat Party might just as well change its name to the National Socialist Party, and most Republicans are really fake capitalists. Congress continues to think it knows best by setting a higher minimum wage, seemingly oblivious to the fact that we have the world's strongest economy precisely because it is based on free markets. What will the National Socialists and the so-called Republicans think of next, a federal maximum charge to repair a leaky faucet? How about a maximum doctor fee for the flu? President Bush demonstrated his own ignorance or mental weakness this week by bemoaning the fact that we have "income inequality". Memo to the President: that's how capitalism works. If the Marxist-Leninist day comes when we are all "equal" in outcomes, then we will all be slaves to the state. Capitalism, freedom, and the United States will be dead.
So FNC is getting flooded with e-mails "Right on Rudy"!!
That's not surprising to most of us who know his record.
OTOH, McCain's skin cancer keeps returning.
And as for the rest of the twaddle you posted, it is just that.....twaddle!
Rudy reminds me of a Republican version of the late Henry Scoop Jackson. He's very pro-military, tough on the WOT, tough on crime (he can easily back this one up with his success as Mayor of New York), but more moderate on social issues. Like I said earlier, I'm going to listen to him very carefully, and if I feel he won't threaten my conservative beliefs, then yes, I'll vote for him.
That's how I feel, too, Carolinamom. I like 3 candidates but will vote for whomever makes it out of the primaries.
BRAVA!
If you don't want to see the big picture and be a single issue voter, an issue the President doesn't have alot of influence over anyways, that's your right. What do you think Hillary would do as President?
If judging a person's moral character by their position on abortion makes me a single issue voter then so be it.
Would you support a candidate that supported NAMBLA if he/she looked good on other issues?
As do I. However in this day and age of politics it seems nothing is taboo any longer. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.
Will you stop with the spin!
I sometimes feel we are on a merry-go-round.
