My dream ticket would be Gingrich/Keyes, but I don't think Allan is interested in running this time around.

Presumably
who are they fooling?
I'd support one if it included deporting criminals, mandatory health and liability insurance, and no citizenship path. And strict enforcement of the laws, particularly employers.
Agreed.
Now to find a candidate who would honestly push for that, other than election years.

While I have many issues with RG, I ask any RG supporter to please help me with but one issue........his stand on the 2A!
Certainly, I love and support the brilliance of our Constitution and the guarantees of ALL of our rights. As a patriot, Nam vet, and free law abiding citizen of this country........ I will NOT disarm, regardless of whom the president might be.
The 2A has always been important.....but my God folks, we are at War with much of the world.....a 'gun grabber' would have us naked before our enemy.
Again, I ask RG supporter to please help me with but one issue........his stand on the 2A!

It would be premature to break into New York, New York, wouldn't it? :)
I'm happy he's in, he's earned a shot to be fairly heard.

his stand on the 2A! I'm not a supporter.
Freeper Pharmboy had permits for two handguns in NYC for many years.
Rudy squeezed them out of him even though he had never had any problems.
So two gun permits that survived David Dinkins did not survive Rudy.

Absolutely and spot on!
He will also probably have a great shot at Ct. and Pa.!

Falling for a Trojan horse is the fault of the duped. I have heard Rudy called a Trojan horse, it's up to us to discern if that is true or not. Rudy is not my first choice but I might vote for him. My next door neighbor is as conservative as they come and a smart guy but he is not going to be elected president so he won't get my vote. My vote is going to the winner of the Republican primary, who ever that is.People here are are already announcing who they are NOT going to vote for and for what reasons. That is scary!

At least Rush is open to Rudy. Some on here think Rudy's the devil and would rather see Hillary elected. I know Sean Hannity likes Rudy.

I was wondering if any of the Rudy supporters could answer how Rudy is different that a Democrat like Joe Lieberman? Both are socially liberal, in favor of gun control & affirmative action, and both are strong on defense and crime. Rudy's not for affirmative action. In fact, Rudy ended the NYC racial quota system for city contractors when he was mayor. Rudy's also a big tax cutter. And he shrunk welfare rolls and the city payroll. I don't think Joe is quite as market friendly as that, though he may be.
To: nopardons
Show me numbers where he cut the size of government in NYC. I can't find any data on it and would like to see it.
I see differing reports on his stance on Affirmative Action. Yes, he eliminated it in city contract bidding, but also I see where he supported the NY Liberal Party's position on the issue. So which is it - does he wish to eliminate it entirely or just here and there?
I see nothing where Rudy proposes that we withdraw from the UN so I am not sure what you are basing that statement on.
The more I read about Rudy the less I see as being admirable. If he were mayor of Chicago instead of NYC I doubt any of us would be having this discussion. The only reason he is polling this well is because of his celebrity status - I'd wager that 85% of the people that select him in a poll have no idea about his stance on abortion, sodomites & gun control nor anything regarding his embarrassing personal life.

Falling for a Trojan horse is the fault of the duped.I hate to tell you this, but votes need to be earned, not counted on. When the GOP runs too far left, they lose. It's really that simple. Can they run too far right? I imagine so. I'm not sure just where the sweet spot is. But it sure as heck ain't on the far left fringes of the GOP, with a guy that is pro-choice, pro-gun-control and pro-amnesty.

Now to find a candidate who would honestly push for that, other than election years.I think Newt would follow through on his promises. I'm aware of and don't much care about his marital problems, but I think it's fair to say his high negative rating stem to a large extent from his uncompromising attitude through the Clinton years. Unfortunately his 21st Century Contract with America other than a rather vague Establish patriotic education for our children and patriotic immigration for new Americans....We will insist that both our children and immigrants learn the key values and key facts of American history as the foundation of their growth as citizens.

Reasons for a true conservative NOT to back Rudy:
1.HEALTH. He has survived prostate cancer for five years, but cancer always comes back.
2.BACKGROUND. Possible mob ties. Father had shady background.
3.MORALS. A proven womanizer. Many wives. Another Clinton?
4.PERSONALITY. Abrasive, demanding, uncompromising. You wanna see gridlock in Congress? Elect Rudy.
5.CLOSE FRIENDS. Unsavory people like Bernie Kerek.
6.GEOGRAPHIC. Rudy is an east coast liberal. There's no hiding that from the Red Staters.
7.HYPOCRISY. Another pro-abortion Catholic, like Cuomo, Kerry, the Kennedys, Drinan, etc.
8.PARTY AFFILIATION. Rudy should own up that he is a Democrat at heart.

The gun rights group - traditionally not a left-wing organization, to answer the question - lent its endorsement Monday to Gov. Bill Richardson, a Democrat.Thank you. Now I have a concussion from falling out of my chair and hitting my head.
Thanks for the links. I'm still trying to process it all. Just damn!

Rudy's not a "gun grabber" this is nothing but hollow rhetoric over the time he zoned a particular deadly, crime ridden zone in Down town New York as well as the subways. He banned the possession of guns in those zones and ONLY those zones.
His plan worked and he cleaned up violent crime to such an extent that people could freely and comfortably move about the area again with out fearing for their lives.
The knee jerkers want you to think that because he took these drastic measures, he is going after all the guns in the country. When in fact, he has done nothing of the sort and goes out of his way to assure us that he would do no such thing if he were President.
Not to mention, it would be difficult for any President to go against the second amendment. It's just that logically simple, unless you are one who has very little logic.
