Am I the only one who was disallusioned that Muqtada al-Sadr's political organization has played such a prominent role in the Maliki government of Iraq and that they've refused to cooperate with the Multinational Coalition Forces and they've been secretly assisting the efforts to kill our American soldiers and undermine our efforts to finish the job and get out? My opinion is that we should either really fight in Iraq to win or we should pull out altogether.
I'm so glad that the Mahdi army is now on notice that they either need to surrender or face annihilation. Unfortunately these zealots think that Allah will protect them (or give them great rewards in paradise as martyrs) as long as they keep fighting us. And even worse is that they likely think that Allah will punish them if they give up the fight.
Oh how I hate this war (and all wars). Do the radical clerics in the Mideast preach to their followers that if the USA pulls out that they should leave us alone and be peaceloving people? Or do they preach vengeance and jihad? I'd like to encourage the anti-War crowd to come up with some evidence that these radical religious leaders in the Mideast really are teaching and preaching peace and putting down anything that supports violence upon American citizens. Unless the jihadists have become born-again-pacifists, we're in a war whether we like it or not.
So this is a vanity editorial disguised as a news story with a real link and everything? First time I've seen that one.
Disallusioned? Is that when you're making some kind of literary reference but it falls apart like a bad simile?
2 Key Members of Mahdi Army Killed
"Ali Khazim, who ran al-Sadr's political organization in volatile Diyala province northeast of Baghdad, was killed Sunday by U.S. forces at his home in Howaider village, 12 miles east of Baqouba,"
Excellent
Probably......others have expressed being disillusioned, however...
I guess disallusioned would mean "not certain to what you are referring"
on the other hand, is this a discussion board or a news story only relay site?
It's a discussion board usually related to a news article with a posted link and some portion of the story posted for perusal by anyone wishing to post. Vanities on the other hand are usually noted as such to reflect that they are the opinion of the poster and not drawn from a news source.
I was only remarking that this particular post is something I haven't seen before. The news article link is to a real article which could have been posted in it's entirety since it's a google link and the poster could have posted his editorial comment as the first reply.
I posted in 2004 when the troops had al-Sadr surrounded in that mosque where he killed 200 civilians that the coalition should take him (then) or we would regret it.
We have come to regret it.
That is what happens when the diplomat State Department runs a war. They try to rush a political/diplomatic settlement before the war is won. And that always leads to further disaster.
Yes I'm disillusioned.
al-Sadr should have been dead years ago. A major blunder on our part that may cost us the war.
ok, understand you now, thanks
Right. We cannot quit the war. We can only hand the ball to them and turn our backs.
All you have to do is look into those eyes to see the evil.
Precisely why I chose that particular photo as the base for the graphic...
That turd should have been killed 2 days after boots hit the ground in Iraq. It would have caused less a stink at the time then doing it now. But that is what still needs to be done. ASAP!!!
