I'm not paying full attention; I'm alternating between FR and the tube.

That said, my point was that the dampness of the field wouldn't contribute to traction loss. I never said the players weren't sliding around regardless.

Yeah, we play on grass. There's sand underneath for the purpose of soaking up water. It'd take an extremely heavy rainstorm to cause puddles to develop.

"A man saving the day."

For a while there, I thought they were making him Jack Bauer.

"Coke ad good..."

A commercial stressing "LOVE?"

It's about time!

I am so tired of all the violent commercials...haven't seen any tonight, but every day I see too many.

Super sod
Saturday, February 03, 2007
By DEREK BELT
Sports Reporter

FOLEY, ALABAMA -- When the NFL's turf-management team first inspected the Georgia-grown sod that was to blanket the field at Miami's Dolphin Stadium on Super Bowl Sunday, south Baldwin grass grower Eddie Woerner made sure his cell phone was fully charged.

The call he anticipated came later that day. A change was being made.

It was Jan. 18. There were less than three weeks left until the big game.

"Eddie," the NFL official said, "can you start Monday morning?"

Woerner shot back, "Sir, we'll be finished by Sunday morning."

By daybreak that Friday, a roll of Woerner's best turf -- developed by Elberta-based Southern Turf Nurseries and grown at two of its four worldwide locations, which include farms in Elberta, Florida, Georgia and Chile -- was being laid every three minutes.

By noon, the field was done and ready for painting, and by mid-afternoon that Saturday everything was in place.

"We didn't waste any time. We went right to work," said Woerner, 55, a lifelong Baldwin County resident who first gained national attention in 1999 when he laid natural turf indoors for a New Orleans Saints preseason game in the Louisiana Superdome.

Radio would probably work - but the silence is golden right now. 3rd down. Here we go - big down.

A man saving the day. What a concept.

It was a take-off on the hideously violent "Grand Theft Auto" video game.

I thought the NFL promoted the Superbowl as a "family event". Yet they approve of this crap?

Is this year's Super Bowl a Stephen Spielberg/Dream Works production?
