I haven't seen Mitt Romney mentioned here today..but I heard the other night...that he has collected a LOT of $$$$ from donations.
The "experts" are always talking about how the eventual winner will have to spend a BUNCH of money.
I guess we need to pay attention to that aspect as well.

I'm not sold on the fact that McCain's the given nominee. Everyone like to say at this time, "who else?" I don't know.....nor do I really think we should know in February 2007 who we're voting for in Nov 2008. Twenty one months is a few lifetimes in politics. Many thing can and likely will happen between now and then to shape things.

I second that about commonsense.
A few years ago I asked for a temp at work and I said to the agency I realise I will not get someone that has export/shipping experience or if I do not the kind I need but I will go for someone with commonsense. IMHO export/shipping needs more of that than someone without the correct experience. Unbelieveably 2 agencies declined to offer anyone. That to me is an indictment of modern society.

I told my daughters if they ever went to the dark side .. I'd write them out of my Will *L* Good idea. I don't think she will ever do that anyway. She is very business minded. She sees $$$$s in her future, and knows that capitalism is the only way to make that happen.

the $$$$$ and "connections" factor is one of the leading reasons that the strategists for the GOP also think McCain is their best bet....
ugh...
what thing to teach folks....work against the your Party's President by holding hands with Libs and you get to be the one the party supports for Pres?

Enjoy your Sunday everyone.....
Time for me to engage in two of the seven deadly sins. First, Sloth, as I take a nap. Then, Gluttony, while I watch the Superbowl. Perhaps I'll even tempt Greed, depending on what the final points line happens to be. Go Colts! They'll always be the Baltimore Colts to me....

McCain has worked hard to tie up the primary state parties, if what I've been reading is right. Romney, as I understand it, has an edge on fund raising for now.
We have seen the consultants for many Republicans here do exactly what you are saying. Their advice is always to get to the middle in order to win. Their only problem is these middle of the road advisers have lost every major election in CO for years. Yet, too many politicians keep listening to them.

Maybe that is good. Any show that has Lugar on, I dive for the remote and change to the Animal Planet. Even a vicious Lion stalking a vulnerable baby hippo looks more humane than what Lugar lets happen to him every single appearance. It is is painful and sickening what a huge ego can do to destroy someone, especially someone that has too many overdue books in his own Library. I do not know what is in the water in DC, there seems to be something that lowers the IQ by 50 points, and the common sense totally.

Yeah, I noticed a lot of hand wringing with the Rats, except for Juan he just seems to be playing in a different game than the others. They are playing baseball and he is playing goofball. He basically says the same thing in response no matter what Kristol or Brit or even Mara says. I know he has to stay on the Rat Plantation to keep his Day Job, but he does not sound like he is in on the same Conversation as the rest of the Panel. Kristol of course throwing all his support for the Mccain plan, and Juan a little flummoxed by that, since he has invoked Mccain name so often to deride the Pubbies he was kind of muted in response. He needs to be deprogrammed by the Rat talking points Nazis.

Newt should simply go be somebody's "Rove" he should be the tame court intellectual, not the man behind the "Buck stops here" sign.

I sure hope you are right...I have Duncan Hunter in my tagline.
But, as I have stated already one here...I would love another candidate like George Bush, someone who brings passion for life, America, the military..and is a positive optimistic type that will inspire voters to vote FOR him/her...
rather than AGAINST Hillary or whoever is the DemocratICK.

Interesting thing. GW Bush Approval rating vrs likability rating is almost a mirror opposite of BJ Clintons.
People supposedly disapprove of Bush's job performance but really like him. People approve of Bill Clinton but don't really like him.
Sorry but that tells me the Junk Media still has WAY too much influence over WAY too many people in the USA.
