Doc admits he stole cadaver's hand, gave it to a stripper
NJ Star Ledger ^

" A doctor admitted yesterday in Superior Court in Middlesex County that he stole a hand from a medical-school cadaver in May 2002 that was later found in the home of an exotic dancer he had befriended.

The plea deal Ahmed Rashed, 26, reached with prosecutors calls for him to receive five years of probation, during which he is barred from seeking a license to practice medicine in New Jersey. Linda Kay, 31, who dances under the name "Zillah" at the Hott 22 in Union, is being admitted to a pretrial intervention program to resolve her charge of receiving stolen property, a prosecutor said yesterday. "

"When my client was a first-year medical student he took a hand from a fully-dissected cadaver that was ready for cremation. He was unaware it was a crime," Geist said. "Everybody understands that people do silly things when they're 22. He is now a resident in the emer gency room in one of the busiest inner-city hospitals.""

Now there's a *real* romantic for ya ...

This must be why I never had much luck with 31 year old New Jersey Strippers. I offered wine, flowers, long walks on the beach, $20 bills...

I didn't know they wanted severed hands. I had better make a note to myself about this. After all; Valentines Day is coming...

He was unaware it was a crime? Yeah, right, after having gone through medical school he was at least aware it was against medical ethics.

He is a freak who has no business practicing medicine.

So; you think I would have better luck with a New Jersey Strippers if I cut off my ear and gave it to her?

Sir; do you not realize how silly that sounds!

Sounds like the title of a country-and-western song - "I Gave Her My Hand, She Gave Me The Finger."

This calls for a little Tom Lehrer:

I Hold Your Hand In Mine

I hold your hand in mine, dear,
I press it to my lips.
I take a healthy bite
From your dainty fingertips.

My joy would be complete, dear,
If you were only here,
But still I keep your hand
As a precious souvenir.

The night you died I cut it off,
I really don't know why.
For now each time I kiss it
I get bloodstains on my tie.

I'm sorry now I killed you,
For our love was something fine,
And till they come to get me
I shall hold your hand in mine.

I suppose a Renee Richards suggestion is out of the question, then.

Do I dare ask whom this Renee Richards is and what she might suggest?

Actually, a corpse IS property, but I'm damned if I can find the article I read that discusses the details.

From the rest of the article...

"In addition to the receiving sto len property charge, Kay was accused of criminal restraint in a separate incident. Kay and two friends, housemate Sean McDonough, 30, and another nude dancer, Polina Nikulina, 26, were accused of holding a third woman in the South Plainfield home on Dana Drive before they fell asleep and she was able to flee.

The criminal restraint charge was made part of the deal to allow Kay into the PTI program, Hamlin said. McDonough and Nikulina have also applied to the PTI program, but no decisions have been made on their applications, Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Carver said.

The arrest and court action led Kay to lose the South Plainfield house she owned with McDonough, according to Kay's father, Robert King...

Kay has continued dancing at Hott 22, but club owner Dan Russo said she is glad to get the charges behind her.

"To celebrate, we're going to tell everyone to give her a hand when she gets back on stage," Russo said."

Even her boss couldn't resist...

Ahmed was surprised, but pleased, when, after their second date, Linda said she wanted to give him a hand job...

Here's another article on the stripper. Pretty disturbing to say the least.

Hmmm... But you could make the argument that following the dissection of a cadaver, the parts become medical waste. Would medical waste be considered to be 'property'?

You're right, that is disturbing. But one of the strangest things was this, from your link:

Kay was charged last week after someone called police and reported that McDonough was suicidal and threatening to kill himself with a hammer.

How the heck do you kill yourself with a hammer? I suppose it's theoretically possible, but you'd have to know exactly where to hit yourself in order to fell yourself with one blow. And is one's own arm long enough to draw back and come in with the force necessary? Not a very efficient method, if you ask me.
