LADY LAKE, Florida (CNN) -- Deadly storms swept across central Florida on Friday morning, damaging homes, toppling trees and sending trucks careening off Interstate 4, police said.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office said there were "several" fatalities in Lady Lake, where at least two mobile home parks were hit. Authorities could not say how many deaths there were.

oooooooooooops, ya beat me by 2 minutes.
Listening to Rush ... there might be Super Bowl implications to this ... I guess we have a lot more rain coming but there is also the (very small) chance that a tornado today could damage the stadium.
Always that chance ..
Thanks, I just called her. She is at home with extremely heavy rains and was dark and she said there was a bright area in the sky.
My niece is at work and my goddaughters 4 & 5 yrs are in school.

Yeah...ditto here. We did ok here..just about 40 miles south of where it looks like a bombing raid happened. Methinks the death toll is going to climb once they start getting into some of those piles...a lot of people missing in the area right now and the injuries at local hospitals of the elderly is pretty substantial as well.
Guen, you need a NOAA radio.
I have never been anywhere near a tornado. I've only been in earthquakes. Of course, we get no warning at all for EQs; but, often, there is very little warning for tornadoes too and folks need to find safe shelter. I pray that all who needed to do that were able to, but am so sad for what they have lost. For those who have been injured or lost their lives or loved ones, may God be close and comforting.
How are you doing? Good to hear from you...
That is devastating ...
Glad you're ok, Mom ..thank the Lord. The damage is horrible.
Doing fine- lost power a few times overnight- very windy and tons of rain- but nothing like a few miles to the north of me...
Here is the link to the church that was completely leveled. http://northlakepc.org/
This church has served as a hurricane shelter for years. It was built to withstand 150 mph winds. It is total rubble today.
Sorry- I posted the wrong link for the church that was leveled- this is the correct link:

God Bless ya Sunny, my kind of people!
Did you guys hear that interview that Fox News just had with Sen. Bill Nelson, down at the tornado damage scene???
Did anyone on this thread see that??
Just the beginning, where he said it was time for the government to start helping these people out.
Tell us about it.
