I just got up.....the wind is blowing like crazy and IT IS ALMOST 50 DEGREES....I can see a spot on the driveway that is melted down to the driveway surface.

WE ARE HAVING A CHINOOK!!

Chinook A type of foehn wind. Refers to the warm downslope wind in the Rocky Mountains that may occur after an intense cold spell when the temperature could rise by 20 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit in a matter of minutes. Also known as the Snow Eater. (Weather Channel Glossary)

Williwaw A sudden blast of wind descending from a mountainous coast to the sea, in the Strait of Magellan or the Aleutian Islands.

Ma, I think your Chinook is moving that cold air from Alaska right down on top of us. Next week our temps are suppose to be only in the 20s.....during the day! Nights.....brrrrrrr.......makes me cold just thinking about it.

If this keeps up, you and I will have to switch states during the "so-called winter." LOL
