More voters say they would be comfortable with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani as president than other top 2008 contenders, though majorities would also be comfortable with other leaders from both parties, according to the latest FOX News Poll. In addition, of all the 2008 hopefuls announced or frequently mentioned as a possibility voters want to hear more from one candidate specifically: Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.
Opinion Dynamics Corporation conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for FOX News from January 30 to January 31. The poll has a 3-point error margin.

You know as much as I do about the poll now. It appears that was not mentioned.

There you go again making me laugh till I cry. I want to know which chart you are talking about-- the chart in black & white or the prettier version with all those interior decorator inspired colors.

Those pictures of RINO-rudy in drag and in the kick-line, are besides his liberal positions, most informative.
His favorite restaurant MUST be IHOP, where the sweetest thing on the menu is the "RINO rudy FRESH AND FRUITY".
Just say NO to any and all RINOs.

Coulter's opinions doesn't mean squat, especially this early in the race.

Can you imagine the male that ends up being her VP pick? He has to run everything by her and the Big Creep.Janet Reno is used to taking orders from the Clintons. It won't be a problem.
Seriesly, I have a hugh suggestion for her Veep. Michael Moore. He doesn't have any self-respect anyway so being Hillary's poodle won't humiliate him.

The chart, the chart, Ross - you're repeating yourself!
I was surprised not to see any posts (I checked) about Mary Cheney ... how would VP Cheney be dragged over the coals for supporting his daughter in this forum! Would you guys really support Dick Cheney in a run for president while his daugther (GASP - the HORRORS) has a baby and her partner in it is a woman?
I haven't made any decision - and if the GOP can come up with a better, and MORE VIABLE candidate than Rudy Giuliani, I'd love to see who it is. The key word is VIABLE, and I've not seen that yet.

Why not? He is the smartest most political savvy of the possible candidates. If and when he enters the race he will have a plan. Unlike McCrazy, who just feels he is owed the nomination.

Coulter's opinions doesn't mean squat, especially this early in the race I like Ann but I wonder what she would do if Rudy won the Primary. Does she tell the social dingbats to stay home?
To: PhiKapMom
I can bite my lip on several issues concerning Rudy. But a weak stand on 2nd Amendment Rights would turn me against him -- fast!
To: Dark Skies
Well, the pundits have been saying since the election that conservatism has imploded and that 2008 will see the end of conservatism - and a return to "moderation" - in the GOP. I hate to believe it, but the mania for Rudy (he can win, man, WIN!) seems to confirm it. Too bad. FReepers are becoming Yellow Dog Republicans, I guess.

I think Ann Coulter is the Molly Ivins/Maurenn Dowd of the left. I don't think she is all that.

A very wise freeper said, and it worth repeating:
I think you are misunderestimating what a motivated red state grassroots electorate can accomplish against Hillary. But they have to be motivated.
Bush violated his conservative principles and the result was he could not motivate his base in '92. Bob Dole could not motivate the conservative base in '96. GWB just barely gained enough support against Gore in 2000 and it took a considerable grassroots effort to finally get him seated.
Without the motivated grassroots in '04, Kerry would probably be president today.
And due to a perceived lack of conservative principles in the Republican Party in '06, our side was not motivated and now we're stuck in our current situation.
You've got to give the people something to get the juices flowing. Sorry, Rudy's a great guy and he'll get half of our side going, or maybe even three quarters, but it's going to take an all out effort.
Why hobble our side with a candidate who is sorely lacking on basic conservative issues? He's not going to motivate the conservative right. Don't repeat the mistakes noted above. Violating the most basic conservative principles is a sure way to lose the election.
I stated that almost any decent, honest conservative Republican should win against Hillary, but he must be able to motivate his base to do it. Sadly, the social liberal Rudy Giuliani may be the one Republican of the top half dozen or so front runners who might fail to motivate the grassroots and therefore may actually cause a repeat of '92 and we say hello again to a President Clinton.
Do not repeat the now obvious mistakes made in '92, '96 and '06 and barely avoided in '00 and '04. Be sure the candidate we choose actually walks and talks the conservative platform!
Motivate the base. Win elections!

It's early in the primary season at best but like it or not this where the populace falls at this time... For some there is major ground to be made up and for others there is major ground that can be lost. Time will tell who will make up ground and who will lose.

It's a New York thing, to me Rudy dressing up in drag tells me that he's easy-going and self-confident.
