"It's a s***** little country that deserves to be nuked into obliteration and furthermore -- wait ... is this on the record? It is? Well, ignore what I just said. Israel is a fine country and Iran should be careful not to do anything I would disapprove of."

"...if Iran were to launch a nuclear weapon against a country like Israel, it would lead to the immediate destruction of Tehran."
If Iran should then let one of the warheads get "stolen" by a Jihadist group and detonated in Israel, does Iran just get a stern warning about site security from the UN?

They won't be launched. They will be smuggled in just like all Palestinian weapons are now, then detonated in the back of an untraceable van in Tel Aviv, with Iran disclaiming all knowledge.
And the French will wring their hands and caution about "hasty conclusions."

If the United States were not there, the rest of the world would just put their hands in their pockets and whistle a happy tune, waiting to die.
No one cares about Israel except us. France wouldn't give them a bucket of water if their collective pants were on fire. Europeans are committed to "collective security", a hilarious joke if there ever was one, mainly because they are too weak to even defend themselves, and are so morally degraded that they are no longer entirely sure that they deserve to defend themselves. This is the legacy of cultural secularism, and political socialism, which I have come to believe go hand in hand.

The Israelis would know where it came from and what to do.

Does anyone really think for a nano-second that, despite his tough macho talk about responding to an Iranian nuke, that he would actually support something as decisive as a response of any kind?
To: james500
President Jacques Chirac said this week that if Iran had one or two nuclear weapons, it would not pose a big danger, and that if Iran were to launch a nuclear weapon against a country like Israel, it would lead to the immediate destruction of Tehran. Go for it Jacques! We'll be right behind you, anxious to repay you for all your help.

>>>
Where will it drop it, this bomb? On Israel? Mr. Chirac asked. It would not have gone 200 meters into the atmosphere before Tehran would be razed. <<< Hummmm - shoot down in 200 meters. Very good! We need to buy this system. Is is French, unlikely; or is it Israeli...still unlikely but way more likely than French.
Jeepers - its not just shoot down but retaliation in nanoseconds....this is really really good!

I'll answer my own question... Jacque Chirac would either be paralyzed by fear of repercussions brought by any response, or he would just be in the pocket of Ahmadinijad and the clerics and not do anything.
