Norah Jones' Not Too Late becomes most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon.ca

Enormous fan support pushes Jones to the top of the all-time list

SEATTLE - Amazon.ca has announced that Norah Jones' third album, Not Too Late (pictured) has become the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon.ca.

Not Too Late will be released on January 30, 2007 and is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.ca for $12.97.

Earlier this year, Amazon.ca began offering the critically acclaimed singer's throng of fans an exclusive first listen to her third studio album Not Too Late, with a never-before-seen performance of "Rosie's Lullaby."

Fans can still watch this exclusive video performance and pre-order Not Too Late by visiting Amazon.ca.

There has been enormous excitement surrounding Norah Jones' upcoming album.

"Our customers watched the Amazon.ca exclusive footage of Norah Jones singing 'Rosie's Lullaby' in record numbers, and they clearly liked what they heard making it the largest pre-ordered album in Amazon.ca history," said Peter Faricy, Amazon's vice president of music for North America.

Other past top pre-ordered albums on Amazon.ca include (in no order) Funeral by Arcade Fire; An Ancient Muse by Loreena McKennitt; X&Y by Coldplay; Confessions on a Dance Floor by Madonna; Awake by Josh Groban; and three Il Divo titles The Christmas Collection, Siempre and their self-titled album

My wife and I cherish our "Dear Norah" but I'll never understand why she thinks we'll sell our souls for a stupid song. You and your friends are wrong, Norah and we look forward to deeply disappointing your "hating" self, again and again. You'd better work on your "call to prayer" because after us, it' s the Muslims and that is the only song that will be sung. Thanks for ruining my wife's Valentine's Day gift. Why can't you just shut up and sing?!?!?

Artist: Norah jones
Song: My Dear Country
Album: Not Too Late

'twas halloween and the ghosts were out,
and everywhere they'd go, they shout,
and though i covered my eyes i knew,
they'd go away.

but fear's the only thing i saw,
and three days later 'twas clear to all,
that nothing is as scary as election day.

but the day after is darker,
and darker and darker it goes,
who knows, maybe the plans will change,
who knows, maybe he's not deranged.

the news men know what they know, but they,
know even less than what they say,
and i don't know who i can trust,
for they come what may.

'cause we believed in our candidate,
but even more it's the one we hate,
i needed someone i could shake,
on election day.

but the day after is darker,
and deeper and deeper we go,
who knows, maybe it's all a dream,
who knows if i'll wake up and scream.

i love the things that you've given me,
i cherish you my dear country,
but sometimes i don't understand,
the way we play.

i love the things that you've given me,
and most of all that i am free,
to have a song that i can sing,
on election day.

You sound a little confused Norah. Get out of the studio and pick up a history book.

Absolutley loved her first release and wish both her and the musicians she works with the absolutle best.

She of course has a great unique voice and her understated respect for music comes through loud and clear in how she blends her work to the overall sound. I just wish she'd let the writers who had so much to do with the first album play the same role.

Of course she wants to grow as an artists but songwriting is a developed talent and she had a lot of it around her along with the overall production.

I had originally bought the first album as an "accident" but it's just great how she broke through all the rap and poptart noise.

"Absolutley loved her first release..."

Same here. Too bad she turned out to be just another moonbat with a nice voice. She just lost a sale.

Can't anyone just shut up and sing anymore?

One should have lower expectations of the "artists" in our midsts.
Do you remember any "artists" in school or had a clue about anything?
They weren't paying attention to learning anything in school.

Classic fodder for the leftists themes of "peace, land, bread."

But I share the disappointment. Especially when the political theme is mourning democratic action. Good heavens!

Well, no - there are albums, and there are singles. Either can be pressed on vinyl, CD or who knows what else. (The original albums were 78s, in something closely resembling a photo album.) I'm with you - LPs are great, but I'm more of a 45 person.

Reading the lyrics I don't see it as being all that bad, while I assume that she isn't a conservative, at least the lyrics are vague enough, and there's even a shot at the MSM in there.

Besides, Norah is hot as hell.

Hope everybody's heard her band "The Little Willies."

"Gotta Get Drunk" is a classic!

Her lyrics imply an election that occurred on November 2.
"three days (after Halloween) later, (on Nov.3) 'twas clear to all,
that nothing is as scary as election day"
The 2004 election was on November 2.
While it is possible she is referring to someone in another office, she probably means Pres. Bush when she sings
"who knows, maybe the plans will change,
who knows, maybe he's not deranged."

Yup. For real. Kind of scat-singing jazz stuff with barrelhouse piano, that sort of thing. Really entertaining.
