New Citizens Report on Iraq Makes Case for Victory
US Newswire ^ | Tuesday, January 30, 2007 | Kristinn

Posted on 01/30/2007 7:18:39 AM PST by kristinn

A new report on Iraq was released today that covers many subjects not touched on by the Iraq Study Group. Titled Citizens Report on Iraq: Attainable Victory vs. the Propaganda of Defeat, the report was conceived, researched and authored by independent citizens with experience in Iraq who are concerned that the American people and politicians are ill-informed about the situation in Iraq.

The 86-page report is available for download at the Free Republic website:

http://www.freerepublic.com/CitizensReportonIraq.pdf

Citizens Report on Iraq

In the Citizens Report on Iraq, readers will learn that progress is being made in Iraq; there are large areas of Iraq that are safe and prospering; that the enemy is being killed and wounded in astounding proportion to American casualties; that the reporting on Iraq by the dominant media is universally despised as inaccurate and misleading by those fighting for Free Iraq -- Americans and Iraqis alike; that the so-called antiwar movement, including the organizers of this past weekend's protest in Washington, is led by terrorist supporting Marxists as part of a global alliance seeking America's defeat in the Global War on Terror and that a prominent White House correspondent has allied herself with one of these groups.

The report includes frank interviews with dozens of Operation Iraqi Freedom veterans, their families and several Gold Star parents. Those who think their support for President Bush and victory in Iraq has waned will be sorely disappointed.

The report also includes an overview of captured Saddam Hussein eraIraqi government documents that demonstrate Saddam's commitment to international terrorism and research in to Weapons of Mass Destruction, including nuclear weapons.

Contributors include a history professor, an American contractor who has spent the past three years in Iraq, an Iraqi living in Baghdad, and numerous soldiers who spoke frankly on condition of anonymity.

The information in the report was gathered from original research andinterviews, publicly available government reports, blog entries, news articles and transcripts.

We have no one to blame but ourselves for losing this war.

You have just contradicted the entire report with one loser statement. Shape up.

Does the report cover any of this?

There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in a recent January. In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in that same January. That's just one American city,
About as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq

When some claim that President Bush shouldn't have started this war, remember the following:

A. FDR led us into World War II.

B. Germany never attacked us; Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost .. An average of 112,500 per year.

C. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost ... An average of 18,334 per year.

D. John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us.

E. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost. An average of 5,800 per year.

F. Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.

G. In the years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled Al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

The Democrats are complaining about how long Bush's war is taking but it took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation.

We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find
the Rose Law Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the
Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.

It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!!

Our Commander-In- Chief is doing a HARD JOB! The Military morale is high! The biased media hopes we are too ignorant to realize the facts. Maybe they need reminding.

Who is to blame for the lack of public support or complaints from the troops that no good news is coming out of Iraq?

No, it does not. It is the "Citizens Report on Iraq"

The goal was not to debate the issues or the reasons to go to war. Read pages 54 - 59 which discuss casualty rates, both ours and the enemies. Read pages 5 - 32 to see what the troops and their families have to say.

Read about the robust economy in Iraq many projects already completed. We did not want to discuss WWII or Vietnam or Korea...we wanted to report ON IRAQ!

I am saving your fantastic post! Good stuff!

I just finished reading your excellent report and wanted to thank you for the incredible work that has clearly gone into preparing it. This sheds light on so many areas slighted by the mainstream media. I can't thank you all enough.

I do hope this gets much wider exposure in the days and weeks to come. I'll at least try to get it out to my own friends and acquaintances (especially the lib ones).

I'll do it. I'll print it out and send it to my two senators in Tennessee and President Bush. I'll also send a copy to my local news station.

Anyone else want to do the same?

You know Iraq deserves freedom just like Kuwait, France and many other nations. Our US soldiers are not just defending America from future attacks, our soldiers represent people from massive graves that will never speak again. I still hear the words never again in my head. Our troops are enforcing "never again" and they mean it. I support our troops and i support their mission. Let's go get er done!
