So, how does incompetence on the part of nuke engineers and/or scientists who spread fallout around translate into a plane penetrating a nuclear containment vessel?

Yes. There is also a big coverup in the airline industry. Forget all that fed data about airline safety. Did you know that we lose and average of one airliner a month. This is a carefully guarded secret because if it go out, nobody would fly, the airlines would go bankrupt and our economy would go south and Bush wouldn't have been re-elected.

Yes, I see your point. CBS News, and MSNBC, and CNN, and the New York Times, and Slate Magazine refuse to write that story because they are concerned about the negative impact that it would have on the Bush administration. You have been here a little over a month. I just noticed you in the last couple of days. Based upon the things you post here, I wonder what your real purpose for hanging around FR is. Not.

I used to show that video (it was actually an F-4 on a rocket sled) in Naval Nuclear Power presentations when I was a recruiter back in the day.

Now I'm just a silly tech at a nuke plant. I admit there's a lot more mass behind a 767 fully loaded than an F-4, but to actually breach the primary--that would take some SERIOUS doin.

Then again, hitting the turbine building on a BWR might be a bit messy from a radcon standpoint.

--After all, everybody knows that Bush sends Halliburton goons to randomly select a flight and liquidate all the passengers.--

I agree. They do it randomly but I said it averaged one per month just for perspective.

No one is 'purposely remaining ignorant' but you are purposely posting untrue and inflammatory information. What is your agenda?

I find that hard to believe. The hundreds of relatives of the so-called "hijacked & crashed" airline flights could never keep a secret like that. (and why would they?)

Nope, live in Anchorage. Did go to Ft Greeley to train on the range (F4s and 2000 lb bombs - fun in the snow.)

The Greeley Reactor is very well known locally, and there are small trace amounts left in the area. The AFTEC folks had some TEGs up here to power monitoring equipment and the AEC actually spread fallout (about 20 pounds worth) along the Arctic coast in one area.

As opposed to the thousands of gallons/tons of waste sitting on the ground at Hansford. I am not hysterical about Nwaste, but I don't wish to live downwind from a open cesspit of the stuff either. My wife is already a Downwinder, so we tend to be a *bit* more than a little sensitive to the issue.

As this is America, you may still live pretty much where you wish. I enjoy the scenery and clean air of Alaska. I'm sure you enjoy where you live.

I really love your sources. The board member with the most experience in any field is a piano teacher and her vocation is playing piano at the church. The average experience level of the staff members is somewhat less than that of day care provider. But thanks for at least listing your sources. Many wouldn't do that knowing that someone might actually look up and see for whom you are shilling.

I forgot, they do have a lawyer on the staff to go after the dollars. One of their primary goals is to become financially independent - no doubt with their lawyer's help.

"The containment buildings are much more sturdily constructed than needed to withstand an aircraft direct hit."

So were the WTC towers.
No-one had considered that the metal would melt and cause a collapse. So, when the nuclear plants are attacked we can say everything would have been okay if we had only ...............(You fill in the blank).

" "the likelihood of both damaging the reactor core and releasing radioactivity that could affect the public health and safety is low."

So can we build a whole bunch of these really safe nuclear reactors to help stop global warming?

Sometimes it is a night job. But thanks for the advice. I don't know how I managed to get this far in life without it.
