NEW ORLEANS -- Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama blasted the Bush administration Monday for the slow pace of Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts and what he saw as a lack of urgency at the White House.
"There is not a sense of urgency in this administration to get this done," said the Democratic senator from Illinois. "You get a sense that will has been lacking in the last several months."
Obama, the nation's only African American senator, was in New Orleans for a field hearing conducted by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. The devastation in New Orleans and slow response hit especially hard among the city's black residents, focusing attention on issues of poverty and racism.

The moderate mask is off, and I knew it was only a matter of time before America sees the real Obama, just another leftist playing the blame game.

Remember about 4 months after the hurricanes all of the articles describing people who had just started rebuilding, because they were tired of waiting for the Federal Government?

Hussein has found another dead horse to beat and myth to perpetrate.
His first bold "idea" was to socialize medicine.
He's now run out of "ideas and goes deep into the liberal playbook for his latest spurt of wisdom, what a predictable, hack, loser.

I don't know why he's even in NOLA.
The last time I looked he was an IL Senator. So shouldn't he be worried about things that pertain to IL?

Obviously, Obama is taking the hard line on Katrina recovery because he's trying to establish his black bona fides.
It's the only reason I can think of as to why he's doing this now, after reports that African-Americans don't think of him as one of them.

Just for reference, every diversity class I have been to (and it has been a lot over the last 40 years)lists the statement "I have African American friends" as the first stage of denial.

I am so sick of Katrina this, Katrina that. We saw a totally dependent community sit on its butt while it got slammed by a hurricane and then the media and every lying democrat in public office made a charade of the aftermath by blaming every Republican.
And a year and a half later Mississippi is cleaning up fast while the dependents are still pissing and moaning that nobody is cleaning up fast enough FOR them.
