Looks to me like Free Republic has long been on the cutting edge of common sense. Now the foremost expert on this matter weighs in and says it plainly and forcefully. Bravo!! The only stats I could find on percentage Muslim population may be innacurate, but they stated that 7% of EU babies were Muslim last year, and that if trends continued 10% of the populace would be Muslim by 2020. That's a sign that the EU may be majority Muslim in the far future, but it is hardly urgent. Of course, given the perception that Europe is anti-semitic already, I'm sure that the Jerusalem Post has plenty of reasons to start sounding the alarm now.

A firm stance on immigration now would probably slow the change in the EU, but they still have the issue of the birth rate disparity to deal with.

If you do view the number of Muslims as an issue; given that a lot of the Christian world has a problem with low birth rate and aging, this seems to me to be an insoluble problem. I guess we could all get busy converting Muslims to Christians like crazy.
