Pilgrims flagellate themselves with knifes attached to chains during an Ashura procession between Imam Abbas and Imam Hussein shrine in Kerbala, 110 km (70 miles) south of Baghdad, January 28, 2007. Tens of thousands of Shi'ite Muslims are expected to gather in Kerbala this week to celebrate a religious festival called Ashura, the day when Imam al-Hussein, the

Good point.

My personal criticism of Eid is that it claims that Ishmael was "the son to be sacrificed", not Isaac.

Other than that, Eid is not much different than Passover.

Ashura, on the other hand is indicative of a sick sadistic religion.

I don't think the Rapture will happen until the Tribulation is well under way.

Christians will see the abomination of desolation, based on 1 and 2 THess.

You said -- "When did the last sacrifice occur and what makes you think they will commence the practice?"

See, Post #19, #62, #70.

Last time was 70 AD, next time will be beginning of the Tribulation Period, then stopped at the midpoint -- at the point of the "abomination of desolation" (referred to by Jesus).

Well, I do know that there are several positions that Christians take in that matter. I -- for one -- take it as pre-Trib. From what I've studied and read, it just doesn't make sense any other way.

As it stands, today, there are four positions. One of those came in the last 20 or so years. I've looked at them, and pre-trib has it all together from what I can see. There are ample materials out there on that position, and I'm sure you could find them. Thomas Ice provides a nice web site on that position, from annual conferences that they've had, you could go to David Hocking for another. Or you could try John F. Walvoord. Arnold Fruchtenbaum is another (and it goes on and on).

Next up...MRSA infections. Might as well do the job right.

Maybe 1st Cavalry could deliver measles & smallpox infected blankets. Ward Churchill's books explain all about how to do it.

Ward should get the first delivery. Purposely cutting your skin is just begging for a serious infection.

Why stop at self flagellation, fellas.

Mass suicide is a much better way of proving your devotion to your beloved allah.

Ward should get the first delivery.

Now that would be real irony:

Fake Indian first person ever to die at U.S. hands from purposely infected blankets, which he had lied about having happened to "his people", in his partially plagerized/partially made up "history" books.

I used to be pre-trib, until I realized that we are warned to keep an eye out for the abomination of desolation in the temple.

You said -- "I used to be pre-trib, until I realized that we are warned to keep an eye out for the abomination of desolation in the temple."

I have to chuckle, because I don't know how many times I've heard that phrase -- "I used to be..." I had a good friend, many years ago, that directed me to a book about a "new" position in the (then) three positions of the Rapture (which were taken by Christians). This book outlined a fourth position. It was called "pre-wrath". Well, I didn't buy that one either.

But, really, in talking about that, you have to keep in mind that the Bible *only* talks to three distinct groups of people, the Jews, the Gentiles and the Church. Jesus was talking to his brethren, the Jews. They will see it. The Church will not (and, of course, the "Church" refers to the body of believers and not to manmade "organizations").

So, yes -- "they" will see it. The "they" is not "us".

Star Traveler
