Read some of the comments in any of the several Huckabee threads. He is not that stellar of a candidate. He more or less became governor by default -- by replacing the Dem who replaced Clinton. Jim Guy Tucker ended up in jail, so Huckabee won the governorship. Term limits prohibited Huckabee from running last year. Huckabee could not deliver the governorship to a successor Republican, nor did he leave any Republican in any elective high state office.
Huckabee has been a disaster on curbing the flood of illegals into the state, as well. In fact, he was highly critical of a FED raid on some processing plants early last year.
