Rudolph W. Giuliani, who developed a national reputation for decisive and reassuring leadership after 9/11, now faces the odd challenge of having to reassure some supporters that he can be decisive about a very different issue: running for president. Even as his fellow Republican John McCain and fellow New Yorker Hillary Rodham Clinton have all but formally declared their candidacies, Mr. Giuliani has proceeded more cautiously.

Eh?
So?
How are you doing so far in stopping abortion?
Try and keep up with the deabte.
Conservatives don't support, promote or vote for liberals. Got it.
If you want to expose the truth stop ignorning fiscal, domestic and foreign policy issues. Stop picking and choosing only the issues you disagree with Rudy on. Stop ignoring what the President's powers are in regards to the various issues, stop ignoring political realities and for goodness sake, please stop ignoring electability.
Rudy's idea of a "very intelligent, very honest, very good lawyer." The image of the kind of Supreme Court Justice he would appoint:

And we know what a great job he did at getting Bush to appoint his mobbed up, high school dropout, corrupt business partner Bernie Kerik to head the Department of Homeland Security. Giuliani earlier appointed Kerik to head the New York Police Department And we know how that all worked out. Kerik narrowly avoided jail, but he was convicted anyway.
He also, in a quid pro quo for the New York Liberal Party's endorsement and support, appointed Liberal Party Chairwoman Fran Reiter as Deputy Mayor. He also appointed Russell Harding, the son of Giuliani's close friend Raymond Harding who also chaired the Liberal Party and was one of Giuliani's closest campaign advisers, to be the City Housing Director. Russell Harding had to leave office upon being arrested by federal law enforcement and charged with conspiracy, fraud, mail fraud, wire fraud, receiving child pornography, and possesing child pornography. He was using his official credit card to pay for personal items including a car, 'Sopranos' DVDs, and a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. He later pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 5 years in prison and forced to repay $367,000 he embezzled from the New York City.
Yes, Rudy Giuliani has a sterling record when it comes to appointing people to positions in his administration.
No you try to keep up with the debate. This is a thread about possible REPUBLICAN candidates for POTUS. You probably meant to reply to one of the HILLARY threads.
And, btw, did you know that Rudy is NOT a social conservative? :-)
Run, Julie Annie, run! We need a female candidate!
LMBO
You're right, we don't vote for Liberals or liberals...
After the primaries, things will change dramatically. It will also be fun to watch the numbers unfold. This should be one of the heaviest voter turnouts in our recent history.
Who ever gets the nomination, there won't be many sitting this one out, of that, you can be sure!
1. Even Ronald Maximus made mistakes (see 1986 amnesty and Beruit pullout).
2. Giuliani had not amassed the liberal record that he has now. Back then, he was a young prosecutor with a few, lesser known, radical liberal ideas. Since then, he's served as mayor of New York and done and said a lot of liberal things.
He's NOT!? Oh, never mind......
Give me a break. Ginsberg might be wrong about every single issue, but it's indisputable that she's intelligent and a good lawyer, and so far, there is 0 reason to doubt her integrity.
Disagreeing with someone and denying their qualifications are two very different things, and someone with any amount of intellectual honesty knows it.
And alot more conservative things on issues the President can actually affect!!
"Back then, he was a young prosecutor with a few, lesser known, radical liberal ideas."
How did you get into the mind of the youthful Giuliani. Spiffy your talents just amaze me.
That's good advice. I ignore it too often on FR.
I would say, wow, I can't believe it. The Democrats actually appointed someone sensible. I don't agree with him one everything but he's sensible and he'll defend America and be a great CiC.
Hell yes! I'd be very excited if the Democratic party had room for people who cut crime by 2/3rds, slashed taxes 20 times, kicked Yassir Arafat out of his convention, prosecuted terrorists and mob bosses, etc.
That would mean that we have two parties that are relatively sane and pro-American. That would be good for the country. Unfortunately, we don't right now.
