If someone with Rudy Giuliani's track record had secured the presidential nomination on the Democratic ticket, would you still stand up here on FreeRepublic and insist he's a "conservative" in any sense of the word?

I would say, wow, I can't believe it. The Democrats actually appointed someone sensible. I don't agree with him one everything but he's sensible and he'll defend America and be a great CiC.

Hell yes! I'd be very excited if the Democratic party had room for people who cut crime by 2/3rds, slashed taxes 20 times, kicked Yassir Arafat out of his convention, prosecuted terrorists and mob bosses, etc.
That would mean that we have two parties that are relatively sane and pro-American. That would be good for the country. Unfortunately, we don't right now.
