Are You a "Patriotic Terrorist"? (Liberals Hate America?)
Federal Review ^ | Friday, January 26, 2007

Over at the Huffington Post, blogger Greg Gutfeld examines the rise of what he calls "the Patriotic Terrorist:

It is an American who claims to love his or her country while enjoying the enemy's success against said country. It is a person who gets deeply offended if you question their patriotism, while also appearing to share the same ideals of the more spirited folk who like to blow up innocent people.

Patriotic terrorists love America with so much intensity that it appears to the untrained eye that they hate it. But it's actually the most powerful form of "tough love" known to man....

Gutfeld goes on to list ways that he finds actual terrorists and patriotic terrorists to be in idealogical sync:

Both patriotic terrorists and Al Qaeda want the US to abandon Iraq, for that reveals Bush and America to be monstrous, laughable failures....car bombs going off is music to their ears. It proves that you can't offer democracy to troubled countries, as long as you've got terrorists standing in your way....both believe that infractions at Guantanamo Bay are far worse than anything a genocidal dictator could muster....both patriotic terrorists and Al Qaeda terrorists believe the US desires to control the Middle East, empower ... Israel and expand it's power base at the expense of innocent Arab lives. But both groups also realize that the US is too stupid to achieve these goals

As they say, read the whole thing.

It's called a meltdown...

I hope not. Who's going to clean up all of the bodies when they jump from skyscrapers? Not me.

Did this guy seriously write this or did you add it in as an aftercomment, because I can't believe that even a barking moonbat would be THAT transparent.

I didn't change anything. It's straight from the ass' mouth.

I live in 'Liberal' territory and hear it ALL THE TIME!

BTW -- why not just call these people traitors? Good ol' fashioned word -- used to be a hanging crime. You can't root for the enemy and be a patriot at the same time.

I didn't read the full text or the comments, but Greg (the author) is not a typical moonbat. For that matter I don't think he is a moonbat. Go look at his bio and read his "Blog within a blog".

He's thrown a few blogs out that made it to the front page of the Huff post. One of my favorites of his was blaming Bush for Steve Irwin's death because of Global Warming. Complete satire but the freaks at Huff took it hook, line, and sinker.

(usually I'm very tolerant but not with people who disagree with me)).

This statement by one of the commentors is so telling! Tolerant but not with people who disagree with him! So left wing and so INTOLERANT it is laughable, except people like this will get us all killed and/or enslaved.

Oh, yeah, if you follow the links back to the Huff Post, you can see nearly 100 comments from squealing leftists, trotting out the usual "dissent is patriotic" crap, calling the author an idiot, comparing him to Hitler and themselves to Jesus, etc.

How is it that these folks who ignore all of sadams ties to terrorism (and Al-Queda), and the fact that WMDs have been found in Iraq since we went in, think that they are the only ones who can think for themselves?

Michael Yon writes some good stuff from Iraq in his blog. He is embedded with the Army at this time.

Go to: http://www.michaelyon-online.com/wp/desolate-roads-part-one.htm

Greetings:

After spending most of 2005 in Iraq, five months of which were in Mosul, I am back to report on the progress and obstacles. There remain only a handful of US soldiers in Mosul, and they continue to fight every day. The Iraqi Security Forces here are vastly improved from 2005. Mosul is a key and critical city in this war. The terrorists want it badly. Practically the only thing standing between Mosul and the terrorists are the Iraqis who are tired of the violence, and the small group of American soldiers who are vastly outnumbered.

I am again with an American infantry unit, this time it is the 2/7 Cavalry, based in Texas. During the first week of my embed, the battalion lost 6 soldiers killed in action, and 1 interpreter. Others were severely wounded. They also were fighting back and inflicting worse damage on the enemy. "Desolate Roads Part 1 of 2," the dispatch now posted on the site, chronicles singular moments from the past two weeks in Mosul.

My request to extend the embed with the 2/7 Cavalry has been approved and I am looking forward to being able to observe and report on the dynamic situation on the ground here. Already, two of my camera lenses, my ballistic goggles and other expensive gear have been damaged beyond repair. The support of readers will determine how much longer I will be able to continue this work.

Very Respectfully,

Michael

PS: Our apologies for two server melt-downs that crashed the site after recent dispatches were published. We switched to a dedicated server and new company.

Heck, I’ll volunteer it would be worth it in the end. Besides they may have something to contribute after all…..loose change in their pockets.

The Godless have the luxury of believing a good outcome excuses any wrongs committed to attain it.

For the rest of us, their are limits on how far we may go and our enemies both from within and without, remind us of those limits everyday.
