Most people would consider corrupt border patrol agents to be part of the illegal immigration problem, not the solution. So it's passing strange that anti-immigration Republicans in Congress are calling for the federal government to release Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, two former border guards from Texas who were sent to prison last week for shooting an unarmed man in the back and then trying to cover up their crime.

Read the horrible article, then click the feedback link at the bottom and let them know what you think of their slavish devotion to promoting illegal immigration. As always, level headed reasoning is to be preferred over childish name calling.
Heres my feedback on this article:
So, dozens of millions of illegal aliens swamping our governmental systems, degrading our culture, and living in defacto slavery in the US is just free labor markets?
Maybe, to the rich people who benefit from employing illegals, it is a free labor market. To those of us in the middle class who pay taxes to cover it all, and to those of us working poor who have to compete with illegals for low-paying jobs, its not so simple.
There is almost not one single grain of truth in the WSJ story. Its slanted as neatly as any MSM journal with an agenda to push.
The WSJ must be committed to securing a permanent Democrat majority in addition to the Preisdency, because after amnesty for their beloved 25+ million illegals is passed you can bet your burro the vast majority of the new citizens will be registering to vote Donkey. And as closely divided a nation as we are politically those tens of millions of new Democrat voters will assuredly make a significant difference.
The Wall Street Journals & George Bush's Orwellian discussion of Illegal Immigration is surrealistic. The sad aspect is that it has brutally undermined Bush's support on the War - how can one trust George Bush on Iraq when he persistently fails to explain his inexplicable position on illegal immigrants.
I hope you wonderful responders are also passing these thoughts along to the WSJ!
They've been fixedly pro illegal immigration for forever. But getting on the record with them can't hurt.
So it's passing strange that anti-immigration Republicans
Yep, they leave out the key word "ILLEGAL" here. Any time I see that, I know whatever else is coming is a load of hooey.
The US Atty has a LOT to answer for in this case, but it is undisputed that the border agents deserve some severe sanctions for their behavior. If you don't know what behavior that is, or what unambiguous evidence there is for it, then you really are not well informed enough to be posting on the issue.
DO me a favor. Post 3 things said in the article that you think are false, and we'll discuss them. Because I read the article, and have no idea what you think in the article was false.
I'll even make it easier for you. Most of the article is the writers QUOTING other people. The quotes are accurate, I've seen them elsewhere, so they are truthfully quoting them. But for the sake of this discussion, I'll let you cite accurate quotes if you think that the person being quoted is lying.
If there really is almost not one single grain of truth, pointing out three false statements should be simple enough.
From the article:
"Turning felons into political causes is the kind of stunt usually pulled by the likes of Al Sharpton. That Republicans would now stoop to it shows how immigration has caused some on the right to lose their political bearings. First they gave up their belief in free labor markets, and now they're discarding their law enforcement credentials."
Many people here don't read articles. They read the title and the first sentence or two, and then open up with both barrels.
They didn't know he was a drug smuggler when they shot him.
The judge probably told the jury they may only consider "the facts of the case" and that they cannot let their conscience, opinion of the law,or the motives of the defendants affect their decision... (check your brain at the door please...)
The border agents soiled their own name when they shot an unarmed man who was fleeing. These guys are not heroes and should not be a cause celeb on the extremely serious issue of rampant illegal immigration.
Remember, they were convicted by a jury of their peers... people who live in an area where illegal immigration is a big problem.

No, they didn't turn their heads but you did. The paper cited several transgressions on the part of the agents who had a checkered history. We don't need corrupt cops.
Fleeing from an authorized police officer is a suspicious activity. I dont know the legalities, but failing to obey an officer has repercussions. Being shot at seems reasonable enough in this situation.
Also, the Feds went to absurd lengths to convict these men. It can only be described as a vendetta. Vendettas such as that should not be allowed to succeed. They reveal prejudice and hidden agendas, not even-handed pursuit of an officials duties.
They shot an unarmed man in the back. They knew nothing about him at the time except that he was running. That's not enough reason to shoot an unarmed man in the back.
No one was shot "in the back." A foreign criminal drug dealer was shot in the buttocks while evading capture, after pointing what the cops thought was a gun at them. The only possible "corruption" in this case is the apparent complicity of Justice Department prosecutors with the Mexican drug cartel. The prosecutors knew exactly where to find the drug dealer and then conspired with him to destroy the Agents who had disrupted the illegal traffic in people and drugs. Prosecutorial corruption is the ONLY feasible explanation for the prosecutors' behavior. The Agents' prosecution is a crime that cries to heaven for justice. The president needs to free these Agents immediately, restore all back pay and allowances and offer them promotions. The Wall Street Journal is thoroughly compromised, so totally invested in a globalist, no boundaries world that serves the interests of its country club readers that it has zero credibility this issue.
